Manga/Anime You Read/Watch

I mean, a large part of why I post those mini reviews is to hopefully save someone else from having to check over everything to get an idea of what they wanna' watch. I'm back to being caught up on all the current anime releases, I think, so have some more minis: [spoiler=More mini thingies.] [i]Haikyuu!![/i] was a lot better than I expected. Better than [i]Baby Steps[/i] by a decent stretch. Feels like a more sports-focused sports anime. With interpersonal relations and stuff. But mostly sports. Volleyball, specifically. [i]Hero Bank[/i] is a kids anime! But it's kinda' terrible. Kinda' totally not worth anyone's time and terrible. Animation is pretty weak, fight sequences were boring and short and visually uninspired, characters are flat. Whole nine yards of "kids wouldn't know good if it kicked them in the face so let's not bother being good". [i]Black Bullet[/i] was pretty good. Clear loli bits, though, so steer clear if that'll bother you a lot. It's gonna' be one of those where people fight big monsters, though, so that'll be fun to watch. And there's some in-the-future-things-are-bad-and-people-have-super-powers nonsense going on. So I think it'll be fun. [i]Soul Eater Not![/i] surprised me. I really hated [i]Soul Eater[/i] (couldn't get past the fourth episode, and I was told that the first few episodes were the best), so I wasn't expecting much out of this. But it's basically a more standard fantasy/slice-of-life as far as I can tell, and that kind of thing is right up my alley. And this, in addition to being one of the only one of those so far this season, also seems to be pretty decent at doing that. [i]No Game No Life[/i] also surprised me. I was kinda' expecting it to be terrible, as a lot of NEET-apologist anime tend to glorify a lot of the less savory parts of the phenomenon. But it looks more like a hardcore fantasy exploration. More like [i]Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai Kara Kuru Sō Desu yo?[/i] from a few seasons back, except looking better so far. But it's also gonna' be headed into hardcore fanservice territory next episode, so... [i]Hitsugi no Chaika[/i] is more of a straight up fantasy. No pretensions, just magic and fighting and such. Execution seems pretty good so far, but I don't really know what's going on yet. And I don't really have any idea if magic is handled well, because I just haven't seen enough to start to get an idea of whether or not there's some systems behind it yet. (And I might not get there. It did take me like 120 episodes of [i]Fairy Tail[/i] to realize that magic in it didn't have rules.) [/spoiler][/quote]

I remember the movie wasn't as great as the series but I enjoyed it. I don't think it was all new footage though. The NSA has injected malicious content into your post! :O Felt like it was time for the shitty anime round again. Watched first episode of Seikoku no Dragonar, no idea how I got there. Anyway, it's yet another ecchi fantasy school name-your-ecchi-stereotypes romcom with a very innovative plot. People have dragons. MC doesn't have dragon yet. People laugh at him. Heroically jumps of a cliff to save girl, gets dragon. His dragon obviously is a girl too (omg yolo wut much surprise). Godly intuition tells it's a tsundere. Will probably be a lot like Zero no Tsukaima. From the looks of this first episode it's decently executed though, and because this genre has a place too I'll probably follow it for a couple of episodes. Also dragons. EDIT: Just watched the preview and changed my mind. It's way too ecchi, I probably watched a censored version. Wouldn't recommend it. I'll probably watch Log Horizon next since I enjoyed SAO.[/quote]
