Braum, the Rippling Muscles of Supports
By Alan LaFleur | April 23

The revealing of Braum brings a fresh, cool air to the bot lane. Thresh might have a little bit more manly camaraderie now! It is nice to see Riot give us a support that looks manly and that they could take on every champion in the game, and not by bedazzling them with their fabulousness. Also, it is nice to see a support champion where every part of the design process shows that the champion is meant to appear as selfless as possible, which should fit the mindset of every support player.

The macho man support character is a new type of design for LoL. What do you think about the stereotype reversal in the design of Braum? Do you love this shirtless winter warrior? What character designs do you feel are missing from the game?

As for Braum and where he will fit in the meta; the selflessness of his abilities and his demeanor make him an obvious fit at support and especially protect the carry compositions. Do you think Braum will be a good top laner or jungler? Or will he be a support only champion? Which item will you build on support Braum, Face of the Mountain or Talisman of Ascension? Do you believe Braum will be a tier 1 support? He seems fantastic at countering sieges with Unbreakable and Stand Behind Me, how do you see him affecting the fast push and siege meta?
One of the first manly supports to appear, Angus!

Face of the mountain for sure. i'm no pro but i'm pretty confident that is what you will want. he isn't about engaging. he wants to take hits. so build him to do that.

Signature is from Ninja_Trigger's champion mastery thread!
New and slightly improved version is still up to date >HERE!<

I feel like he is going to do too well the first few weeks, he is probably going to get banned in bronze and stuff like leona.

I'd probably go for targons brace first but if i see that we need a faster engage/disengage I'd sell it and go for talisman of ascension instead. Also it kind of depends on the adc, if they rage that you take their cs in order to heal them and give them the money and they just wont understand that you might as well consider going for talisman as well. I'd take dorans shield against matchups you know you have to take more hits in order to win that lane, although generally i prefer taking a gold item since it allows to take 2 heal pots and a ward...

As for braum going top lane? I understood that his stand behind me (w) only works on allied champions... Although that might not be true. If it is and he cant the armor and magic resist buff on top lane without another champ there I wouldn't feel like he is as efficient on toplane. Surely his q,e and r work great on solo lanes too. But he probably is stronger as support, his kit seems more like a "i take the hits, stun the enemy and you adc (and jungler) better start dealing that damage and kill them."

This far I am pretty sure he is going to be tier 1. That's why I am pretty sure he will receive nerfs post release, he is way stronger than thresh and leona in my opinion. If Thresh hooks your adc you go w-e-q... Basically like leona, when they get you, you get them back by going in on their adc trying to deal damage. And braum doesnt even need to jump into them, he jumps to his adc and uses his shield, preferably before the hook lands but yeah, after still should work as well.

I wanna see him together with Yasuo - dual shield OP in TF + Ulti is yasuo ulti trigger and he can jump right behind yasuo after he ultied. I believe there is some mad "make plays" potential.

Also i think he can go single vs push heavy duo lanes, preventing early towertakes. So maybe try having the top and adc start in duo lane if you decide to go 2v1?

I can understand that but usually by now adcs should notice the hige green wave flowing towards them with the money symbol. If not trying to explain helps.
Generally the adc should want their support to use the best item for each situation, also I don't like sacrificing my own gold income and ability to win bot lane only because i fear i am paired with someone narrowminded.
