Agree with Riot here. You can argue that games like WoW are made better by the allowance of addons, but here's the thing: try to play WoW competitively (PvE or PvP).. without the use of any addons... Go ahead, try it (Hint: you can't).

Addons are pretty much required in games like that because everything is so convoluted that you need timers, layouts, etc, just to make sense of it all. I really don't want to see that happen to League.

I'll tell what's frustrating - so I was playing a game last night (without CV) and it really didn't make any difference to my awareness of spawn times, since I typed it all in chat anyway. But what's annoying as **** is when I've lost my timers due to the fact that people are typing in chat and I have to scroll through all that **** to look for a timer I typed in 4-5 minutes prior to check the exact timing.

WOULD PEOPLE STOP TELLING ME THAT THIS BS IS A MEASUREMENT OF SKILL.

It's a habit not a skill. A habit which 95% of the community doesn't have and 100% of the community doesnt use correctly in each game.

100% do not use it correctly?
So preparing a Dragon shortly before it spawns is wrong?
Having the edge of positioning cause of the timer is also using it wrong?

Nope. Being able to voice chat with randoms isn't allowed either. Which is incredibly ****ing stupid but whatever.

Quoted:

Two elements of Curse Voice aren’t allowed under this new policy:

2. Automated voice calls: We have no problem with players hopping on Curse Voice (or any other voice chat client) to coordinate with their friends in-game, but when the application begins directly connecting you with dozens of other people in unfiltered (and untrackable) voice chats, it can make for a huge negative player experience in a space where we can’t help.

No, I'm saying that people don't track every ward/buff/dragon/baron they see currently.

Nerapi,

Based on a recent announcement from Riot, and our desire to always remain in compliance with their wishes, we have taken the proactive step of removing Ultimate, Dragon, and Baron timers from Curse Voice. We are happy to oblige in any way we can to provide the best experience possible for our users and trust their judgement in setting those guidelines.

We strongly believe in the core functionality of the product, and that is to allow players to choose, or not choose, to speak with other gamers in the best VoIP solution for gamers. It is also our understanding that this change in functionality falls within the new guidelines set by Riot.

In Summary, they have taken out all the timers but kept the voice chat enabled. Do you guys think thats gonna float Riots boat or is it still going to be against their TOU?

Here Siv talks about curse voice in general but i find especially about the voice chat.

I personally find the implementation of the voicechat just by itself is enough with the allies ultimate timers being an add-on that could be useful.
But overall the voicechat to me should be implemented. You don't like hearing some whiny 10 year old kid (sorry 10 year old kids no offence if you use this site) you can just decide to mute him with the wonderful mute button.

I use to play alot of halo on my xbox a year or two back, the voice chat enabled me to make plays with my random teammates and if someone raged you muted them. Even then, there is usuallty alot less rage and abuse on a voicechat because it reminds the rager that hey, that is another person on the line and in this type of game usually would type it down anyways because it's more anonymus than a voicechat.

That my opinion anyways. Don't know if Riot is gonna accept the fix cursevoice did by removing all timers and keeping the voicechat, we shall see in the next few days i guess.

my 2 cents :)

I took this as an offence towards me and other tiny and young people like me :/

I was still typing things like '1 min drake' and stuff, so we did 2 efficient dragons and also got gathered for second Baron pretty quickly (we lost the first Smite war). But I did have to scroll through chat at least twice to get timers.

sirell does have a point, anyone can type a timer but if you have to scroll up miles because you have some teammates arguing it can get annoying
