I'm not sure whether it has been mentioned before, but the interesting npcs mod is awesome.

Adds a load of new (voiced!) NPCs and stuff. Note that the dialogues are usually a bit longer(which I think is good) and they do some innovative things(like walking and leaning against a cupboard while talking in the middle of a conversation in a natural way). Okay maybe that didn't convince you but I would really give it a try if you like some(250 of which 25 follower and 15 marriageable) new interesting characters with some(>50) quests attached. From Thalmor veterans to disillusioned adventurers.

You're not supposed to report anything to a guard? Oo Which stage of the quest are you at?
I've never attempted to play a mage, you can only have two spells equipped and so it seems like it'll be a hassle to switch stuff out when you want to use a different spell from the two. It's bad enough having to use flame atronach in difficult fights (in the past, anyway)/use candlelight and then switch back to swords. Hell, having to equip a torch or switch out a shout is annoying to me, too.
