Played a 40+ minute 4v5 that I thought was ranked, and
Maokai was banned. To make it worse, I was the support with a large percentage of our kills.
As an edit: I have to rewrite a large portion of my Maokai guide now that some items and his ult changed. :I

I dont know why, but for some reason, I have always been on a rollercoaster in ranked. Sometimes, I am on a fabulous win streak, one such that almost got me into Silver 5 from Bronze 1. But then, there are those times, where I just can't win. So far, I have lost 5 games in a row, and I'm back down to Bronze 2. My previous game was almost won, but the enemy team had enough aoe to blow me and the rest of my team up.
If this keeps going, I'll be in Bronze 4 or 5 come the middle of the month, and I'll have to work my way up again, possibly getting stopped at my Bronze 1 to Silver 5 promo again. This is why Bronze is called Elo Hell, because once you get to that point of promoting your self to the next rank, you get pushed back down by trolls, afk players, or by that rare platinum smurf that owns you with every move you take.
Does this happen to anyone else?

Well the rollecoaster may simply happen because:
1. You are where you should be. Sorry to be this bold but that is the thing that I suspect :p
2. After a few losses you go on tilt and continue playing and lose even more. Take a break (an hour or so)
3. You are just being somewhat unlucky :p

No, I can go on a 40 game win streak from bronze to silver if necessary. Dunno what this Elo Hell you're talking about is.

Let me put this in a more... modest term. 1st a simple problem, 3-5=?
When you're in grade school, you don't even know how to do math, so you have no idea.
When you a little bit older, say elementary. You know how to minus, you figure out 3-3=0. But 3-5 still makes no sense, the problem remains.
Middle school, provides it ain't one of those inter****-rumoured school, where you know about negative numbers. Then everything become simple, how you compare it with the meaning of the universe now lays bare in front of you...
My point or TL;DR: The difficulty of a problem depends on how much you have experienced. Get better and stop asking for an easy way to do things.
