@Akame ga Kill,

Watched the first episode yesteday. In contrast to Tokyo Ghoul the first episode was rather a letdown for me as a manga reader.
When reading the manga the last part of the first episode felt a bit less rushed, but I guess they wasted too much time on the whole 'becoming an imperial soldier'-thing at the beginning :/
Even as a AgK kinda fanboy, the first episode was just a meh 6/10 maybe 7/10.

Tokyo Ghoul Chapter 75.
Kaneki is probably one of the few MCs that have a great character and overall developement.
TO all the anime watchers, this is so worth it!

I'm not sure whether I've said it already or not but I started watching Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou Desu yo and I like it so far(4 episodes in). The I-don't-give-a-**** overpowered protagonist archetype doesn't bore me. With the exception of how they got in Little Garden(which is never really explained), most things about the colorful world are decently explained. And it's funny.

I don't have much anime time on my hands so I've just watched one of the new season for now.
Futsuu no Joshikousei ga [Locodol] Yatte Mita. was pretty nice. Lighthearted comedy and I would say better than average. I was surprised by how good it was. Then again I expected literally nothing. I would recommend it if you're into the genre.

Looks like Rail Wars! is as terrible as expected, will have to pick that up soon. And I guess I'll move Tokyo Ghoul near the top of the list too.

I wrote a lengthy post about why Yuusha ni Narenakatta Ore wa Shibushibu Shuushoku wo Ketsui Shima****a. is **** but browser crashed yet again(gg webkit)

I think Firefox has automatic text-area backup. It has saved me countless times. Chrome probably has addons with the functionality too.

Also, Koe no Katachi 42 ends with a bang.

OH MY GOD. It's sooo gooood~~~~~~. I knew something was gonna happen.
I finally read up to the latest chapter, 43 (assuming you meant that chapter and not 42).
Spoiler: Click to view

That's nice, I guess I'll use Firefox to write lengthy posts then.

Akame ga Kill! is friggin' awesome. I didn't read the manga so I wasn't expecting the episode to end like this. After reading the second and third chapters from the manga I think the manga is better so far though. Will probably still watch it.

The I-don't-give-a-**** overpowered protagonist archetype doesn't bore me.

That's a great archetype, and it's really a shame that anything that goes long enough runs into sorting-order-of-evil problems that prevent the archetype from sticking around effectively. Although perhaps the larger issue is that few anime want to present problems that can't just be punched to death, so in order to keep up the tension there has to be a realistic chance of the protagonist(s) losing.

Looks like Rail Wars! is as terrible as expected, will have to pick that up soon. And I guess I'll move Tokyo Ghoul near the top of the list too.

Add Aldnoah.Zero to the list. It's one of the few must-watchs of the season, perhaps going to be the only one. I'm not sure I can exactly put into words why I'm getting that impression, but it's speaking to me and basically shouting "Watch me, I know what the **** I'm doing!" It's the same impression I got from No Game No Life last season, so I'm inclined to trust my gut on this one.

And now, more anime that I watched.

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun was right up my alley. Pacing's a bit off, as there are many bits that feel a little rushed (it's an adaptation of a four-panel comic, which shows), but it's looking to be a very solid romcom. Art's nice-looking, but slightly inconsistent at times, which I especially noticed in the male lead's face and particularly his eyes. They're playing up the oblivious-male trope heavily, as well as making him the tall-and-cool type, so we get everything from the female perspective. Although romance is clearly going to be a thing, it's playing more to the comedy side of the romcom equation so far, which makes the tone silly and fun. Also it's highly related to shoujo manga, which helps explain the title. I'm not sure I recommend it to everyone, but absolutely watch it if you're into non-ecchi romcoms.
Official lifebaka Rating: I love romcoms and so should you / 10

Shounen Hollywood was all right. All male idol group anime, so sticking itself with the bishounen tropes as well as the idol anime ones. Very not my thing. Animation looked solid. I can't really judge the art well because I don't like the style, but it seems pretty good. Some of the shots are highly stylized, Shaft-style, and I'm not sure it's working all that well. Definitely a decent anime, but I don't think I care for the genre enough to stick around for episode 2.
Official lifebaka Rating: Worth for genre enthusiasts, I think / 10

Barakamon was really good. Slice of life anime about a young (adult) man moving to a rural bit of Japan for a while to work on his art (calligraphy). Obviously gonna' be heavy on the character arc, since there's nothing of world-shaking import going on. I like the art and animation, and the character design is solid. And it's fun to hear the obvious difference between the Tokyo and extreme rural accents of some of the characters. I don't think this one is a must-watch, but barring extreme distaste for the genre you should give it a shot.
Official lifebaka Rating: Really good / 10

Sabagebu! was... Decent, at best. Unlike the airsoft-girls anime of a couple of seasons ago, this is decidedly a comedy. And although I like that it's going to spend less time with a silly little girl sorting through her (SUPAR IMPORTUNT) feels, this isn't carrying off the comedy all that well a lot of the time. A lot of the absurd situations end up feeling weird instead of funny, it's only the more serious parts that are working fine. Art and animation are of middling quality, by which I mean that they aren't obviously great and I didn't notice any real problems.
Official lifebaka Rating: Meh / 10

Ao Haru Ride was fun. Seems to be more straight up romance than romcom, which I am totally fine with. Character art's a little awkward, but I've seen the style before. Scenery art is really good, especially the water-color style in the memory sequences. Animation's good as well, although now that I'm thinking about it the scenery is basically always static. Plot's gonna' develop slowly, as far as I can tell, but the first episode gives a very good impression of where things need to go before the story can end. It's also kinda' refreshing not to have any pink or otherwise impossible hair colors anywhere.
Official lifebaka Rating: Pretty good / 10
Official lifebaka Rating addendum: ROMANCE / 10

Hanayamata was also fun. Go figure, I like my silly slice of life anime, and this one's a pretty standard slice of life comedy. Of course, now that I'm really thinking about it, it actually has little nothing going for it other than not being bad. It's a severely bog standard show for the genre. Lead is bland, basically being a Mary Jane that the intended audience can project themselves onto; new character shows up in her life to disrupt things and create adventure/whatever; other people get roped in and hijinks! Of course, all episode 1 covers is the new character showing up, the hijinks come later. Animation's pretty good, though, and maybe there'll be some supernatural stuff later. Plus I love the genre, so I'm in.
Official lifebaka Rating: Decent / 10

I just managed to finish Black Bullet, was busy developing a website during my free time these past few days.

Watching it till the end was painful. The cliché, the cringe...It was painful. I found myself alt-tabbing through most of the cheesy scenes in the end.

The animation wasn't bad at least, and the fact that it's actually dark helped me a lot, otherwise I'd have dropped it for sure.

Also Kisara's dark side was actually eye-catching and somehow got me rid of some of that ****py shonen atmosphere for a while:

Gifs

Oh and the OP / ED themes were good at least. It reminded me of Shingeki no Kyojin's OP / ED themes. Wouldnt be surprised if it's the same artist / composer.

Still it's not worth a watch unless you're a fan of cliché shonen anime with a "penchant" for seinen tropes.

Right now I'm gonna watch Ryuugajou Nanana no Maikouzin which seems entertaining, but I'm ready for the worst.

Ao Haru Ride
Was fun as lifebaka said, but as a manga reader, and also shoujo sometimes, I noticed this heavy clicheéd male lead and the female lead that instantly drops her 'appearance' which she worked so hard for, just for him. While the male lead is for some reason mysterious nice and mean at the same time!
Shoujo/10 indeed.

These rating systems are so much better than the numerical rating.

Anyone watching it/up to date with it?
I really like this show, even if it isn't exactly the best out there...

I think the problem people have with Korra isn't about Korra, more about the fans...
Every comment on every video I see is people comparing Korra with Aang and feeling dissapointed .-.
You know, not every avatar is the mature bending prodigy that is likeable by everyone xD I really like how flawed Korra really is, gives me a higher sense of realism whilst watching the show. (Not to say I didn't like tla, infact I liked it a bit more than Korra, but still, I don't think tlok is as bad as people make it out to be D:)

I watched episode 1 of tokyo ghoul and I'm hooked. I adore the art, the animation and the song that played near the end of the episode was very reminiscent of psycho pass's first opening. Lovely!
