CLGs Strategy has always been some variant of Let Doublelift Carry. Being the best ADC in NA and easily top 3 at the world stage it's just the way that they have worked since the beginning. Becasue of this CLG tends to fail when the opposing team can single out DOubleift or Split push. If you look at teh Regional game last weekend they won pretty convincingly in game 1 when they could 5v5 and peel for Doublelift. Game 2, VOyboy was able to SPlit as Nasus and keep the whole team from coming together, and in Game 3 Dexter focused Top lane exclusively which let IWDominate to keep bot lane in check.
It's not that they are bad. It's that there are obvious *****s in their strategy that they sometimes try too hard to guard against.

They play well, but they don't play well consistently.

to it's detriment. CLG was a top 3 team throughout the split but 1 or 2 bad weeks and they are on the verge of relegation. It shows how flawed the entire LCS is. A team can go from 2nd or 3rd place to relegated simply if they have a bad playoff. It makes the entire split irrelevant up until playoffs, basically the entire season is playing for seeding so you're less likely to lose, which in the grand scheme of things seems entirely pointless
