Hello everyone !

First, a quick introduction : I am a unranked player who mains Support (and Blitzcrank in particular).

Most of the time, when I play in Normal, I can get the Support role. However, sometimes, there is a premade bot so they get the role and I end up having to play as Jungler (because everyone takes the Mid/Top position first).

AND. I. SUCK. AT. JUNGLE.

My ganks are ridiculous so I never get to either kill or give the kill to the laners, when I try to invade the enemy jungle I simply get killed by the enemy jungler, and if I focus on farming my jungle the enemy jungler is free to gank anytime.

I have the feeling that I can't really improve at it simply by trying AI : fighting bots doesn't give you a good idea about how to jungle since they are never prepared to face ganks.

To put it simply, I don't know what to do when I have to be the jungler.

Because of that, I have a few questions to at least get a bit of skills at the jungler position :
-What is the better champion to start with ? Considering that the champions I usually play are Blitzcrank, Nami, Lulu, Vel'Koz, Malphite, Dr.Mundo, Kog'Maw.
-Should I focus on learning how to gank or how to invade the enemy jungle ?
-What are the best guides to learn about jungle ?
-Do you have any advices on your own ?

Thanks.

Depends on the champion you're playing. Each jungler is strongest at different points of the game and need to be played slightly different accordingly. I'll tell you right now that all the champions you usually play, aren't particularly strong at the jungle. Check h4xdefender's tier list for the currently strong junglers. When you decide on a champion you want to practice with, let us know and we'll give you tips on how to gank with that champion

I'd suggest a tanky supportive jungler to start (as a support main myself), but I don't know if any of them besides Nunu & Willump are very good and he's somewhat difficult to play to full potential.

Rammus might not be a bad option to try either, but his early game scrapping isn't great (so he's vulnerable to invades) and if you get behind it's hard to do much.

It would help to know what junglers you've been playing, that way people can give you a decent idea of how to play what you've already tried as well as anything new you'd like to try.

Most of the time, when I am forced to jungle, I play either Dr.Mundo or Malphite.

Out of the list H4xDefender mentionned, I own none of them, and have only played once with Lee Sin and a few times with Jarvan. I suppose I could play with Nunu since he's cheap but... I don't like him.

If I have to choose in this list, I will probably try to focus on Jarvan once I can buy him.

Jarvan IV is a good option, so I see no issue with going for that.

I main the support role i ussually main people like morgona or janna. also i can play any role i keep sperate accounts for each but i keep my best laners for each lane on each account in case i dont get that role. if you want to start jungleing with someone easy try rammus personally i think shaco is kinda easy but thats just my experiance as of now i main shaco jg on one account but if you are looking for easy junglers go for rammus yes or maybe someone like rengar or someone with a really good way into the ganks. and when you gank allways wait till the lane is pushed and try to put as much damage on the enemy as fast as possible while staying safe to let the laner get the kill. i wouldnt recommend elise at all because i am only gold tier at my jungle main and i can not play elise shes quiet hard to play and hard to master. jarvin is a really tanky and fun jungler. sion is great aswell.

Also if your gonna jungle i would also recommend knowing what to build. i cannot stress this enough becasue if you dont build right then your ganks wont do anything.

This is going to be a bit tough since the guides I am reading are all saying in a way "Don't do what [other guide] says, it's a noob trap !" ^^.

But I suppose an acceptable build for Jarvan would be like :
    1. Spirit of The Elder Lizard
    2. Randuin's Omen
    3. Banshee's Veil
    4. Mercury's Threads
    5. The Black Cleaver
    6. Locket of the Iron Solari

That would be work, yeah. Sometimes you might want to get a The Brutalizer early, mainly if you're ahead. And the defensive items depend on the game of course ( Randuin's Omen is most of the time a good first pick though). And you could consider Mobility Boots.

Make sure you don't use too many abilities, it's pretty tempting to use Demacian Standard and Golden Aegis every camp, but your mana pool won't permit that. Unless you have a blue buff. If you don't, Dragon Strike should be your main ability for clearing camps, together with your auto-attacks.

Take care when using Cataclysm, you could end up trapping your own marksman with an enemy bruiser, or you could trap their marksman but at the same time block the path for your bruisers. Note that you can deactivate it by pressing R again after a short while in case **** happens or if your target flashes out.

Have fun!
