Hey all! I'm new to the forums, so if I'm doing anything wrong, please tell! Anyways, I've always admired League of Legends and pretty much all MOBAs in general. I discovered that MOBAs are my favorite kinds of games ever since I was introduced to League of Legends almost exactly a year ago. And then, I discovered the champion concept section. I posted things there, and then I realized... if I really want my idea to be put in action, it shouldn't be in League of Legends... it should be in something else...

And thus, Aria, my fan-made MOBA, was born. And now, I want to put it into action. "Wait, you want to create a MOBA?" Oh, no no no. I don't mean an ACTUAL playable MOBA, since that would require tons of work and money and time. No, I want everything to be conceptual, just written down on paper. But what IS Aria?

Aria is an anime-style MOBA, which is focused on people just getting into the genre, while still offering challenges for pros. How am I going to do this? Something that MOBAs rarely do these days: SIMPLICITY. Yes, you see all of these MOBA maps with 3 lanes and 500,000 objectives and jungle monsters and things to keep track of... it just makes it so complicated. Not BAD, complicated, and complications can turn away new players. What I want to include is a short but very in-depth tutorial, almost like Strife, which will explain things that MOBAs usually don't explain such as last-hitting, the meta, etc. There will be one main map with three lanes, 3 easily distinguishable jungle buffs, 6 more neutral camps which are all exactly the same to avoid confusion, 4 "Lookouts" which allow you to scout the map, and Ivangorn, the "baron" of the game. The game will also have an easy to follow build system. There are no fancy runes and masteries. Everything is gained with items. Like Smite, you will have just enough money to afford a starting item and an active item at the beginning of the game, plus some more for potions or whatever you need. There are 2 main game modes: Classic and Defense. Classic is the three-lane map, which serves as the practice for the real thing. After you win 5 classic games, you gain the option to do a defense game. A defense game involves a team of five defending a sacred artifact from the evil Necron at a venue of choice. Who are these Necron?

The main story of the game centers around the goddess Aria, who created the world and benevolently rules over it. It isn't until a scientist accidentally opened the way to the Otherworld, which Aria sealed off long ago. The Necron, who made the Otherworld their home, are now entering the mortal world and wishing to take it over. Not able to seal it off again, Aria must recruit people to help her fight them off. These characters are known as the "destined" and will serve as the characters you play as in the game.

So what is my point with all of this information? I need help! There are so many creative people in the League of Legends community, and especially since we create these wonderful guides, I'll need help developing the destined. I also want to make a website for Aria, like an original HTML website, and that's not always easy. If you have any experience in that, you have the option of helping out. If you don't want to, that's fine too. But don't think I'm being all "me, myself, and I". This is your chance to show off your creativity and knowledge to the wonderful MOBA community. I've attempted this before and it went horribly, considering that the volunteers wanted to do what "I" want. But these aren't just gonna be my ideas, these are gonna be YOURS too, and I really want to emphasize that. If you also have any experience in drawing or story writing or anything else that could be useful for the development of the project, you can come join too.

If you want to join, PLEASE e-mail me at IcyJK913@gmail.com and I'll reply to you as soon as I can. :)

This sounds quite okay, but what is your aim with all this? Do you just want to get together with a few people and create the entire concept for a MOBA and then what? Will you leave it there? Will you make the concept public? Will you sell the concept to another company who can make it real? What's going to happen?

Yes, I will make the concept public on the website hopefully. I REALLY want a website, though it's kind of hard to find a specialized website expert who will work for free to do such. I might just make a Wikia or a Weebly to do that. As I said, I absolutely DO NOT intend on making this real. I want the website not only to be a place to view the concept, but for general MOBA fans to discuss things. If I gain recognition from a company (which there is a 0.0000001% chance that'll happen) I might sell it to them, but I still do intend to keep this to myself and my team when people sign up IF people sign up.

I'm a web dev, and what you want sounds simple enough, but I really don't see the point in making something for a site that is exclusively conceptual.

That's like me saying I'll sketch out the designs for your website, and even go into deep detail...but I won't actually do anything.

Unless I'm misunderstanding?

Well no. It's not your fault for misunderstanding though, it's my fault for leaving out important details. xD

Even though it IS conceptual, I want people to treat it as if it were an actual game. Even though it is conceptual, I want community interaction. For example, having a favorite character, providing feedback, etc. And the point, that I have been stupidly avoiding to say, is that I want support. League of Fighters is a fan-made fighting game featuring champions from league of legends. It all started out extremely conceptual and now has tons of support. It was even mentioned on LoLKing. But making this idea into an actual GAME would require tons of work (and money there's no avoiding that). I'm also hoping for artists of some sort to draw anime-style stuff, or even make voice acting! But I'll need support first. I also would like a News page, with maybe even things like patch updates. :)

I guess it's like following a blog, except it's not individual posts it's a lot more in-depth than that. Though, I have to disagree with what you said. The "doing anything" IS the creation and community interaction, and is not it's own separate thing. The entire theme I want is a fan-made game made FOR the fans BY the fans. Dawngate was made exclusively by hardcore MOBA fans, but it was kept under the restrictions of Waystone Games and EA, and now they're being shut down!

Anyways, so you mentioned being a web dev? Are you offering help or...? If so, please e-mail me with the email in the first post. :)

It isn't good to bump your posts - Psiguard, Wayne, or Lugi might lock the thread.

Anyways, why are you interested in doing this?
If I helped you out, be sure to throw me a +Rep!

Eh, do you remember Mythos on Kickstarter?
Then reply why people don't want to help conceptual projects.

Maybe I shouldn't have posted on here. It seems like people are just rude and only want to ask questions as to why I want to do it instead of asking questions about it.

There're people who do, and I wanna find them. I guess you're not one of them.

Thanks for the heads up. It's just second nature for me to bump my posts in forums. And again, someone asks why I want to do this...

No one even gave any feedback except for the first person who told me it was "quite ok"...
