Issue 1. (black) people got murdered by (white) cops-this regarding (parts of) the police itself.
Issue 2. murderers get round punishment, actually the one does not even get charged for his actions-that regarding the legal system's attitude towards the police.

Both are equally serious, I guess. You cannot just ignore one dimension of the problem.

Your problem doesn't really seem with the police, it mostly seems to be related to how the legal system treats them.

I'm not telling you you're wrong for thinking that, but stop going on like police officers are all corrupt when your issue is related to a few specific instances.

It is with both. But ffs I did not say all police officers are corrupted or useless. I said that the ones who are should not be cops in the first place because they do too much harm to everyone. I know it sounds utopic but would you ever believe members of the parliament could go to jail? Yet that happened in Greece, a country famous for its corruption.

I have a friend who just got out of academy to become a corrections officer and he had to go through a lot of things to even be able to do that, let alone the fact that the academy sounded like it was pretty hard to go through.

Some people who aren't suited to the job are allowed to do it, yes, but given that the facts suggest these types of instances, in all honesty, make up a pretty low percentage of the murders of African Americans, you should maybe stop acting like it's some incredibly common thing as opposed to something that gets heavily publicized by the media when it does happen.

Sure, media plays a big part on the individual's perception on a subject. It is not THAT common indeed but it is extremely serious. The fact that there were 3 incidents in a short period of time shows that the subject should not be treated as a coincidence. As far as I can see, there are certain issues.

When did I ever say it wasn't serious? I didn't even imply it wasn't serious. I also didn't say it was coincidence, I said to stop generalizing and making ignorant blanket statements. :)

And I never said you did so. I was just describing how frequency should not be the only way to measure one thing.

Exactly this. He has serious problems with generalization.

I think this issue ties heavily into the gun situation in the US.
There are obviously gonna be more shootings and deaths in a place where guns are common than there are in a place where they are rare.

I agree. Also might be related to the fact that we can't even be bothered to make sure someone is mentally stable enough to be trusted to own a gun.
