I figure this is just a different step of my learning phase in lol and I'm pretty sure it just stems from my lack of general knowledge on other champs but it seems like no matter what I do against some lanes, that I always end up losing lane and likely feeding.

I don't think I've beaten many Twitch, Caitlyn, or Mordekaisers in lane, if any at all.
Does anyone have tips on how to play against these champs?

Which champions did you use against them? Some match ups you simply can't win, but until I know which champions you used, I can't help you.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

Mordekaiser has 0 mobility at all. Either poke him and/or kite him to death with a ranged champ. Just make sure that he can't sustain himself with his shield and spellvamp (which Morde probably buys)

I am not that confident about my ADC skills, but afaik Caitlyn is one of the stronger ADC's early game but one of the weaker ADC's lategame. If you pick a strong late game ADC (Tristana, Vayne, Twitch, Kogmaw), just make sure you keep your farm up and don't die and you should outscale her. Twitch can be countered with stealth vision. His main strength is that he can use stealth to position himself safely, if you take that away from him you can kill him before he deals damage. In general, I think if you play Lucian as ADC you should be fine in most match ups. Like I said though, my knowledge on the ADC role is limited.
Change is gooooood

Uh, could just be me, but I find Twitch to have one of the worst laning phases. He seems to be exceptionally squishy compared to other ADCs, and his escape is rather subpar. Twitch will aim to always ensure that you have poison stacks on you. Generally, I find that most ADC players broadcast the fact that they're going to basic attack you. Simply retreat so he can't get the poison stacks and they reset. Other than that, it should be a fairly easy lane for any aggressive carry. Of course, a lot of the lane phase is in the support, so adjust your play style accordingly.

Caitlyn has the strongest lane phase early game. If you're playing Vayne, Kalista or Jinx into Caitlyn, then you're going to have a bad time. There's nothing you can do against the range. You'll just need to tough it out until late game. Caitlyn is very item reliant, and even then, scales really badly compared to other ADCs. You'll just naturally beat her late game if you survive the lane phase. Ezreal has a good match-up against Caitlyn if you want counterpicks. I recommend you just bend over to reduce the pain.

Mordekaiser naturally counters assassins and people who go all in. That really is the only issue. There isn't much you can do other than try not to take poke and don't use your burst when he has his shield up, attack when it's down. The shield absorbs a lot of damage. Mordekaiser has somewhat low kill potential if you're smart. The shield that is offered by inner turrets completely negates Children of the Grave, and his burst comes from when he can get close to you, which is difficult for Mordekaiser since he doesn't have mobility or any innate CC. If I were a jungler, I'd just camp the **** out of that lane. Mordekaiser also scales really well into late game because he farms so ridiculously easily that it's really hard for him to actually be behind in gold. I find sustained damage mages have a very good match-up against him. The unpopular picks such as Malzahar, Swain and Syndra all do well against him.
Imma 'bout to end this man's whole career

I don't play mid or adc that often, but here's what I think :

Vs Mordekaiser

Vs Caitlyn

Vs Twitch

For better answers concerning ADC match ups and such you should ask Luther3000.Janitsu or Joxuu.

Twitch and Cait cannot take extended fights early on. Just go for short engages and you should win. Mordekaiser cannot take heavy poke and he has no mobility. Poke the heck out of him and force him to waste his health. Also he is very vulnerable to ganks so if you pick somebody with like a slow he can get SCREWED.

Quite the opposite, he does better in longer poke sessions than short ones due to more stacks of his Deadly Venom thus more damage through Contaminate.

Found something out about Mord that goes really well for AD Mid laners. Quicksilver sash stops his ult entirely.

It'll save your adc.

As for the adcs, Twitch has notoriously weak early game so make sure he knows his place, and bully Cait's with your support/adc. Once she blows her escape a good Morgana Q will but her in her place. Literally. Forever.
