Loved your Viego guide, when you updated it. Therefore my question is: will you update you Guide? As I feel like there is a need for a Viego guide. I personally struggle to find any usefull information as it appears to me, that everything except for the "smurf montage" items and some variations of this set is just not meta rn.

The best source I found so far is the most recent viego guide of Perryjg on YouTube, but he mentions some completely different Items in a more recent video on Viego.
Just leaving this Information on what I found here for anyone looking for more recent guides.

Hope you might update the guide sometime but mostly want to thank you for making this champ playable for me in my early days of League by publishing this guide.

alr lesgo Viego guide update officially in the oven, this and a couple other unexpected recent comments have inspired me and kept the thought of coming back in my head for a while. Planning on getting it out by the 15.14 release (July 16th) or sooner

Hey mate, your guide seems to be the best to start playing Viego and i thank you for it.

I have a question however: I'm a toplaner and rarely play jungle, do you think he could be viable toplane ? What would be the conditions (enemy laner or comp, etc.) and would the setups be the same as for jungle ? I'm still pisslow elo so I know that it'll work there (probably), but I was thinking of learning it for the long run, into specific team comps or enemy laners.

What do you think ?

Appreciate it bro, as for Viego top I'd recommend running botrk and titanic hydra for lane sustain + sidelane pressure. With teamfighting at the core of Viegos identity it makes him hard to use in top without a matchup where he can opportunistically move to a fight without losing much topside. "Neutralizing" toplaners like vayne, quinn etc. that pin you to stay under your turret won't allow to get the gold you need to rly be a champion, (unless it's an immoblie ranged top without anti carry ablities like a Hwei, in which case its the closest Viego is to being a lane counterpick). Certain melee matchups like Yasuo and Yone are pretty playable, a couple of melees though like Pantheon will just cream you and get away unscathed if you get close to them, whatever the case it needs to be a vs champion you can build a slowpush on to actually move

Setup wise I'm probably running Conq/triumph/alacrity/last stand + magical footwear/cosmic insight into playable matchups and Grasp/demolish/second wind/overgrowth + triumph/alacrity

Horrible matchups however can be circumvented with half decent jungle syenrgy, being able to turn invis, gain ms, and lock someone down/cc chain with W with a decent ganking jungle pick can make things perfectly playable, if counterganks occur than the more the merrier for a Viego as you will be much more equipped to deal with a 2v2/3v3 than just about any other toplane pick

Tldr: Melee toplaner with minimal/average cc = Viego playable
Jungle pathing towards you = Viego good pick
Both Jungles pathing top = Viego rly good pick

I love your guide and Viego builds, but I don't understand the use of the Sundered Sky on Viego. I just don't think it's a good item. Maybe it's just the way I play, could you explain it to me?

Thank you!! Been awhile since I got a comment here so I apologize for the lateness😭. I'll break the item down from a statistical standpoint first and then present some viego specific scenarios where the item comes to life. So starting with the critical strike passive, the guranteed crit on first auto to a champion lends itself well to the short trading patterns Viego can take without hard committing. In a teamfighting context the passive cd is only for individual targets, so as you jump from champ to champ you will bag a heal and a crit immediately. Statistically you'll get about 150 hp and 300 dmg a pop at 2 items if you're half hp and you have kraken/bork/tri, additionally the early crit will optimize the %missing hp damage on krakens 3 hit passive (400hp 40ad 10ah is also just very respectable for a passive oriented bruiser item). To illustrate it all coming together lets paint a picture of a big moment at 20~ minutes with kraken+sundered where you lose about 30% hp but secure a reset, as you cycle out the possessed kit on your next target you use your ult reset to keep chunking them down. By this point you are about 40% hp and the sundered proc comes in and heals you for 170 and the guranteed crit chugs along the kraken %missing damage bursts out the remaining hp.

What I'm mostly getting at is that sundered will proc for every single target you jump to while having great synergy with kraken slayer, giving you ridiculously high burst damage for a non crit build that deals and heals through every reset/new target

Hey, thank you for the great guide! I'm not used to the term "enabler", what do you mean by that? I'm trying to figure that out, but I want to be sure, so I can build the right items. Tysm!

Jooshuaaa (3) | February 19, 2025 8:30pm
Thanks homie, sorry for late response,

An enabler would be a champion that allows you to get your damage down more reliably. For example, Leona "enables" you to dish out damage by immobilizing a high priority enemy champion.

YO MAN! First, just want to thank ya for the guide again, became a Viego OTP and been getting only B+ and above, mostly A and S playing him!. However, I do have some questions, where would you put WW and Yi in the danger scale, and what should I mostly ban? I swear I can't handle those two. Again, thanks for the guide!

Love to hear the updates bro its awesome to see, I can easily see how both of those pose a lot of difficulty and disrupt Viegos core playstyle. I would say Warwick disables you more through his lockdown and is worthy of major threat whereas Yi's less directly disruptive. To assist a bit there, paying attention to Yis Q in skirmishes is a great entry point for in the moment cooldown tracking, the best way to improve those fighting skills is to start small and realistic. Just pick out a couple champs that frustrate you in teamfights, for example Warwick E (Primal Howl, offers dmg reduction for 2.5 seconds at all ranks and fears as the reduction ends) and Master Yi Q (I'm sure you're painfully aware of it but it's cd is 18-11 seconds), try your best to look for these abilities to be used before spelldumping while they're on cd, and in general be aware that using your ult leaves you with zero defensive options.

As for bans I truly think that players in low/mid elo should just ban whatever they feel frustrated by the most or gives some level of mental block. Even if it's some annoying toplaner you're worried about running over the game.

hey bro im a bit new so just wondering why it would be a bad idea to use both kraken and trinity in the same build if u dont have it there. just thought the extra attk speed would help out kraken alot with wits end stacked on top of it, but i think im missing something

Jooshuaaa (3) | January 30, 2025 7:28am
Great thinking but I would prefer titanic hydra in those kind of situations. In the case of kraken tri force being considered I can dicern the strength of that choice would be to dive more aggressively onto a carry than say a sundered sky second item. The reason I think titanic provides more in that situation than tri force is the speed at which it procs kraken with its active ability, also acting as an auto reset. If you need more sustained damage than that its probably best to avoid a divey build. Wits is great tho.

also srry for more questions, but wondering why you would want to preform the extended q combo if the w can reach with flash instead of hitting w, aa, q, aa to get more hits in. would it just be in the use case that the w wouldnt hit?

Jooshuaaa (3) | January 18, 2025 4:43am
tysm!! Felon veigo is just what I refer to a full crit collector start with hail of blades as, dubbing the other builds as "law abiding"

What does mean ''meatballs''?

Jooshuaaa (3) | January 15, 2025 4:55pm
Tanks with high hp/armor, if it's the notes on cut down you're talking about its value also goes up if you are in a comp where you need to frontline to an extent.
