What determines which first item you will get, I usually just default to sundered sky but when should you get Sunfire or Hollow Radiance? I'm assuming you only pick one of the 3 and forgo the other two.
Are there times you wouldn't build a tear? I was watching a gameplay video, which was admittedly around 3 months ago so many patches and changes have occured, and you decided to build straight into gauntlet against yasuo. I was wondering why you did this, was there stat changes to fimbulwinter that makes tear mandatory now or was it a nuanced decision at the time to go straight for a sheen?
Lastly is about the runes, the popular pick is bone plating and revitalise but you opt for second wind and overgrowth, I use your runes as I feel someone who is especially good in the character has a better reasoning than the common pick but I was simply curious why you choose this, I'm pretty new to league so I'm still working my way round all the runes and why to pick some over others.
Appreciate the reply regardless of when it is, if you don't mind I may come back and ask more if I'm really unsure of certain things, I'll make sure not to hound you with lots of questions though, thanks again.
Yeah that was early in the split before they nerfed poppy, iceborn and thornmail I believe(hopefully I'll record stuff for this season soon but haven't had time to test all the builds yet).
I really don't like tear it feels boring and slows down your early game spike but it has pretty much become mandatory. Everyone is very tanky and damage has been nerfed so you need the mana but on top of that last season fimbul was buffed so it's super efficient and admittedly poppy uses the passive super well even if she doesn't like hp as much as resists.
First off for bone plating it is viable but you have to be very knowledgeable about the matchups and play around it to make it worth. The other issue is if the enemy is smart they will poke off the bone plating so it gets no value. Second wind synergizes with your short trades very well and you get the most healing when low while you have bonus resists from W passive.
For revitalize it can be good and actually provides some value very early game but it's not the guaranteed value that 200hp from overgrowth is/which also helps with most of your items scalings anyways. If you really love full healshield builds it's not bad and could be just as good but most of the high rank poppys go overgrowth.
Thanks for enjoying the guide I know it's not as detailed as it could be but I just like to keep it up here for the general build and tips. Poppy top is in a pretty rough spot so just keep practicing and it's still alright even if much harder than support. and yeah you can ask any questions on here or in the poppy discord I am always in there.
And fiora depends if she´s good or not. Eighter way you can at least play save and wait for you team. you can even farm and stop her engages with your W. Even kills are possible if she makes mistakes. Bully her a bit till she gets angry and than take advantage of her
