Hi Nercomancia,

Not a lot has changed, only for the boots and Atakan. For the boots not a lot, all upgraded boots are really strong so prioritize them when you can.

Great guide, mostly read to better understand what I need to avoid lol. As a Zilean OTP I found your threat placement interesting. Rakan is one of my 2 absolute worst matchups. I have easier times dealing with Leona than I do Rakan haha. Again great guide :)

Hi, I've been considering playing League again, and I wanted to know what your thoughts are on the new Void Boots. I have a duo, and we mess around a lot with the special recall. Would they be worth it now, and if yes, in what situation?

Hi Waxo,

So I might be a bit biased on Void Boots as I don't like them as much. In my opinion you want to keep moving as Rakan in and outside of fights and these boots won't help with that in fights. If you are really early game focussed and are super good at roaming you should go for these, but personally I play for teamfights more so I think I don't get the full value.

Hello! I have not played League for 1+ year, so I may be a little bit confused but I have a couple of questions.
Why do you go Zeke's->Warmog's, not Zeke's->Locket? I get that with Celestial Opposition and Zeke's you have 1500 needed health for the Warmog's unique ability to work, but I mostly see Locket of the Iron Solari as second. It gives you ability haste that Rakan desperatly wants. Would you say it depends on the match-up or that Warmog's is generally better?
And the second question: as I was looking through Rakan players to find the best build, I encountered a challenger Rakan main ("a Burning Memory"). Their go-to build is Glacial + Dream Maker + Locket->Redemption as their core. What do you think about it? Would you try it in a composition with 1 or 2 tanks?

Hi Quadii,

So to answer your first question, I don't know if this build is the best or most optimal, but it's what I find succes with. With the added movement speed you get from Warmogs you can roam quicker and have a better time getting vision down in the enemy jungle. I also enjoy the extra tankiness as I tend to play pretty much on the engage. That's why I get Warmogs.

To answer your second question, I know some people like to play Rakan as a peeling enchanter style. This could perfectly work against a comp with a lot of dive or assassins. I have not tried it, so I can't tell you the details.

Saw one of ur last post about symbiotic soles, do you still think its better to go lucidity over symbiotic soles for roaming?

So in my opinion symbiotic soles are not for Rakan. As Rakan you want to weave in and out of fightd and Ability Haste & Summoner Haste help with that a lot. Sure for roaming Symbiotic might be better, but if you pick the right timing, what of a difference would Symbiotic make?

So that is a bit preference based. I like guardian more but there are people that like glacial more. I guess playing will answer your question :)

AERENAAAAAAX, long time no see, hey dude what do u think about people using warmogs on rakan? Is it any good?

Personally I dont see why they do it unless people really want to get tanky which imo there are better items with better passives, but what do u think?

Hi AlexHawkJr,

So personally I don't think you get thr value you want from warmogs as Rakan. It lacks ability haste which is my main concern. Building warmogs on ohter champs like Leona and Rell is to enable them more on the map which is cool, but Rakan doesn't really need that because we can sustain with Q.

Cool! thanks for the reply man I also agree that rakan is more valuable with cdr in the late game and he has too much movility for him to be in great great danger unlike leona or rell that once they go in its harder to leave

Yep that's indeed correct. Leona, Rell and Alistar are really good Warmogs rushers if you really want to play that way. Maybe Maokai aswell for a good try.

Also ive seen your braum build (my second main) is warmogs any better on him? Cause for me there are a lot of scenarios where I need to recall due to my low health being drained from peeling my adc or should I just focus on resistances rather than health because of his W?

Nah man dont worry I get that, sometimes it can be difficult and even more when you have to update 2 guides at the same time and eventually the time will come so its fine bro, and im sure a youve helped a lot of people with ur guides such as myself, keep up the good work man! ^^

Hi Crossyroad,

Good to see new players join! What I would recommend is first check out YouTube.
There is lot's of information there from basic guidance through abiltities (Champion spotlights) to advanced tips and tricks (Shodesu & Raizins).

The rest to learn your champion is up to you! Hop into a bot game first to get the hang of your champ and then take him into a draft game. League is all about exploring and finding your own way/identity. Have fun on your journey because that's most important!

Yooooo aerenax my boy whats up how you doing? what are your thoughts on the new patch? I saw big buffs on dawncore but dont know if its worth mixing up enchanter items with tank items.

Ohhh and what do u think abt the new boots that have enhanced recall?

Heya AlexHawk,

So it's still warly into the patch to say something is really good or really bad. I don't feel like dawncore will change the Rakan build but who knows (Looks like a strong second item for Nami).

Then the new boots. So faster recalls gives you good tempo on the map. If you roam a lot that's a good thing. Personally I think mercs or steelcaps are in a way better spot since they got cheaper. Maybe I'll change my mind if I played with the new boots!

Cool man! although youre right I am asking way too early literally the patch just dropped.

Dawncore had a big buff so maybe the support meta is shifting more into enchanters which is kinda annoying in my opinion :/

To be honest, Rakan looks like one of the stronger supports at the moment with Zeke's getting magic resist. You do lack some mana so maybe shift away from some of the ability haste so you don't burn your mana as quickly.

oooh maybe some room for mage items? idk but perhaps malignance for the ult cdr and the mana or do u perfer something more tanky? like frozen heart or the tear that turns into a tank item (dont remember the name).

It could work, but I'm not sure if it fits my playstyle. If it does yours go ahead ofcourse because you can play Rakan in many different ways! I do build frozen heart sometimes indeed, because I think it's a pretty good item.

Heeey aerenax did u see the new support item changes and what do u think about them? Zekes getting changed and I think maybe other rakan items too.

I haven't seen any updates yet?! I guess this is about 14.10 which is thr mid season update where some bigger changes take place. When I see them and wben they are live I'll update accordingly. I did see changes to font of life that looked pretty good so we'll see what happens :)

Yeaah its abt the 14.10 patch, and those change to font of life are looking reaaally neat, anyways thank you for the reply dude and im looking forward to the guide update.
