Champion Build Guide
Introduction
Hello, I have been a professional player for about 5 years and started playing at 15 (now 21). I am in EUW high challenger (top 100+) with three different accounts with my most played being Aurora on 2 of the three accounts.
As of now, I stream everyday on Twitch
I also use a Matchup Sheet where you can find different kinds of Aurora matchups in greater detail.

Abilities/Tricks
Passive- Spirit Abjuration
Damaging basic attacks and abilities apply a stack of Spirit Abjuration to enemies for 4 seconds.
People tend to think that Aurora's passive is just bonus damage on every 3rd ability/AA, but most people forget that every proc gives you a SPIRIT that follows you and provides HP. Aurora can have four of these spirits at once, for 12-80(+8% AP) health healed per second, depending on champion level.
This passive is also very good into tanks, as you deal max% HP dmg on the enemy (2.5%[+2% per 100 AP] of the target's maximum health).
Q- Twofold Hex
Aurora's Q has 2 parts:
The first is a skillshot that passes through both enemy minions and champions. After a short duration, the skill shotreturns back to Aurora. You may also recast Aurora's Q to immediately return the skillshot back to her.
This early return allows for some tricks with her Qs
- You can look to Q the enemy laner along with the minions. If the 1st part misses, don't insta call back 2nd part. You can move around and if your opponent does not pay attention, you can walk in front of them and recast your Q; all the minions you have marked with Q earlier will return and do alot of DMG + stacks. Thís works especially well against melee midlaners such as Sylas, Galio, Yasuo, etc.
- After hitting Q on an enemy, don't look to instantly pull it back. Try and keep it for as long as possible. Your rebound Q does % missing hp dmg which means that you can damage the enemy followed by a rebound Q for more damage.
BE AWARE: There are some cases in which you want to insatntly pull back your Q. For example, if the enemy runs
- Another advantage of letting your Q rebound after its natural duration at the end is to refresh the 4 second passtive limit time. This will leave the enemy at two passive stacks for the possibility of bonus damage later. It also has a reset so scoring a takedown will refresh your W cooldown.
- You can Q > flash, much like Ahri's charm > flash.
W- Across the Veil
Aurora hops to a direction and turns invisible for 1-1.6 sec depending on skill level. You also gain bonus movement speed for 4 seconds.
- Aurora W can be used to jump over medium/small walls. You can use it to escape and/or chase.
- Since Aurora W resets on takedowns, you can use W before getting a kill to utilize the reset. Be mindful, as it still costs mana each time you use it.
- If you W into enemy vision from fog, you can be briefly seen. But if you W inside a bush or in fog of war before then walking into the enemy, you will be completly invisible.
E- The Weirding
Aurora blasts energy in a line at the target direction and falls back 250 units in the opposite direction. Hitting the enemy with your E will slow them.
- The most important part you should know about her E is that you can use it as a buffer tool. This means that you can E the moment hit by CC such as
- You can E > flash.
Ultimate (R)- Between Worlds
Big AOE ult that damages anything it touches and also slows the enemy for 30%. You can additionally walk into the ult's border automatically perform a dash to the opposite border.
- Much like Aurora's E, her ultimate can also be buffered into CC skills such as
- You can W into the border to appear behind the enemy or E to get the same effect. If you happen to get a reset, you can also follow up with another W on the border and appear on the other side again. Point is, there are alot of ways to play it-- try and utilize your ability to dash around your ult.
- You can ult over small and medium walls as well.
Lanning phase
LVL 1
Aurora is one of the strongest LVL 1 champs due to her passive, as it provides bonus damage and healing per proc.
- Look to AA the wave a lot and contest prio/wave control. Depending on the matchup, you can start either Q or E, though Q is better 90% of the time.
- The best Q angles are when the enemy is looking to last hit.
- If the enemy is a melee champ, look for a Q on both the enemy and the wave; recast it ASAP for multiple stacks.
LVL 2
You skill either Q or E depending what you went LVL 1.
- There is a possibility to level W 2nd if you find a good angle to W then Q the opponent for find a great trade.
- If you have E, you can reliably use E on enemies looking to last hit as the skill itself is hard to dodge.
- If you have wave control, you can just walk up and zone the oppnent from last hitting since opponent will be lvl 1.
LVL 3
You should now have unlocked all your basic abilities.
- You can look for pokes with Es or W into Qs. Be wary of how you use your mana. If you're in a bad condition, plan your base rather than playing for pokes.
LVL 4
You should now have two points into Q.
- You can now do signifigant damage to the wave and use it to clear waves if should you need to base.
-If you're low on mana or hp, look for a base on the next 1-2 waves, before the 2nd cannon wave which is on wave 7.
-If you're healthy and in good condition, you can keep pressing and plan your recall around 1.2k gold for
Lost Chapter.
LVL 5
You can now one shot the wave.
- Q the whole wave and AA the 3 caster minions.
- Use both E and Q on the caster minions to one shot them. Do this when you think your precense in lane will subject you to poking from champions such as
Xerath or
Vel'Koz.
- You can also one shot the wave in order to secure vision and surrounding objectives.
LVL 6
This is your ultimate spike.
-You have a lot of all-in potential. If you find some good pokes beforehand and get the opponent to ~50% HP, you will be able to all in them by starting with R-- depending on the angle, it's sometimes better to delay your Q and E in order to have the opponent panic; let them run into the border since it slows them by 50% when they pass through it.
LVL 7
- You're now able to one-shot the wave now with Q > Q (recast) > E for range creeps.

Item Spikes
- Every mage spikes on this item.
- It is one of the best component items you can get in the game. You can now play for trades whereas before, you'd have to worry about mana during trades.
- Good into matchups that is heavy reliant on skillshots like
- Very good to buy when you know you have mid control which will make you able to move around faster for Objective/sidelane/Camps
- Pretty good Value In early game when people has not bought alot of MR
- Very big spike your now able to pretty much 75% enemy and your Q E pokes hurts waaay more
paired that up with your ultimate your damage output in teamfight is very high
Trinket
- You can use the ward LVL 1 on the enemy
- It does not always have to be
- During wave 2, if you know you have prio and just crashed the wave, it's a good ward timer as you'd place it before enemy jungler can do 3 camps into mid.
- There is angels to ward before a wave arrives if you cannot walk up and hit it
- Once your Between World is leveled, you can look to swap to Oracle Lens.
- This is when you have a lot of agency in lane. You're now able to take mid wave and move into fog-of-war. To make sure your in the fog-of-war, Oracle Lens does the job the best.
- You can also switch the moment you know you have perma mid prio
- Some matchup its better not to go oracle such as
