I've been challenger since season 4, and peaked rank 13 in season 8, rank 1 in season 9 and so far challenger in season 10. I've had a break for a couple of years but returned to playing again.

Pros + Fun to play + High dmg burst + Turn potential + Good ganks + Great when snowballing Udyr is a great champion to play in soloq, he can snowball really easy and dominate the game himself, you have different ways of playing him, which means you have more than 1 win condition. You can go for split push, picks or teamfights which a lot of jungler can't.

Cons - His kit is melee - Can get kited easy - Bad playing from behind - Needs to snowball to dominate Udyr is a really fun champion that fits for all elos. Pro's has recently started to pick him up and are doing quite good with him in challenger soloq. When you are playing Udyr you need to get a good start and snowball, he's really bad when playing from behind, as you need to get in close range to do anything at all, and if enemy team is fed then you will just die before you can do anything

When you are playing Udyr Jungle you want to be really aggresive early on.

You have a few different pathings i like to do.

Starting off with one of the most efficient and safe ones is going for full clear starting at Red>Golems>Raptors>Wolves>Blue>Gromp>scuttle into a gang if possible else go for a reset. Buy Hunters Talisman for mana regen and then go for a full clear again, some gangs and get tiamat on your next back.

Another clear is going for Red>Golems>raptors into a gank, you will in many cases get an easy kill here, as most people dont see you comming so fast with a gank, and Udyr is really great early on with his Blazing Stampede + Wilding Claw combo

When you get towards the midgame you have multiple ways of playing.
You can either go for a splitpush, teamfight or catch style.

Catching enemies is probably the easier and safer way to play in the midgame, look to kill them on their rotations, create a bigger lead for yourself + your team and then go into teamfighting which you will win, as you have a big lead over the enemy and they can't really stop you.

If you get to the lategame Udyr isn't really such a great champion anymore, he kinda falls off as he gets kited and cant really get onto people anymore cus' they also have items.
Try to be a CC bot or protect your carries if possible, or go for a straight Tank build so you can tank up some dmg and create pressure, else go for splitpushing or catching the enemy sololaners in the sidelanes.

PLATED STEELCAPS PLATED STEELCAPS is really great if enemy team is AD heavy

Mercury's Treads Get Mercury's Treadsif the enemy team is CC/AP heavy

Tiamat Always try to get Tiamat on your first back if possible, but if you can't get Hunter's Talisman first into Tiamat on your next back

Trinity Force Trinity Force is perfect for udyr as every stats it gives him is something he can use, get this item straight after Tiamat

RAVENOUS HYDRA In the lategame you can either go for Ravenous Hydra or Titanic Hydra its up to you if you want more dmg or more tankyness

STERAK'S GAGE Sterak's Gage can be great if you want to get a bit more tanky without having to buy either armor/magic resits items, as you just gain AD and health + shield from this.

GARGOYLE STONEPLATE Gargoyle Stoneplate is really good for a melee champion like Udyr as you run into the enemyteam and you can proc this item which gives you huge armor + magic resist aswell as more HP.

MAW OF MALMORTIUS If you havent build Sterak's Gage then Maw of Malmortius can be really good against AP heavy teams, can't build both as they share the passive and then half of the item would be useless and a waste

DEAD MAN'S PLATE If you need some more armor you can either go for Dead Man's Plate or Randuin's Omen, they both offer something different.

RANDUIN'S OMEN Omen would be good if you are looking to slow them down in fights and if they have a lot of CRIT champions on the enemy team

SPIRIT VISAGE If you need some more Magic Resists Spirit Visage could be a good fit instead of Maw of Malmortius

Overall i think Udyr is a pretty strong jungler for soloq. He has a good early game, can farm the jungle easy and good snowball potential, which is what makes him a beast *pun intended* (Udyr means Wild animal in Danish) So if you are looking for a jungler that doesent require too many mechanics Udyr is great for that!
