I know that most people (including myself) who look up builds do so in the middle of a game, simply to see “Well what do I buy next?” for a certain champ. Sometimes you can get away with it too. To truly understand, however, you must read the WHOLE GUIDE. Yes, that seems daunting and maybe even like a giant waste of time, but we don’t make “In-depth guides” for you to look at the 1st thing on the page, then close the tab. Reading the whole thing gives you more information, allowing you to know your role and play a champion much better than if you just glance at item choices. Just thought I should throw that out there. Reading this whole thing is much better for you than skimming the top. Most champs (even more so with Udyr) have many different paths for items and/or masteries, which all can’t be detailed and understood in a single glance. So without further ado, I present to you “A look at: Udyr (An In-Depth Look)”

Hey everyone. I’m Johnnysteps1, I’m new to MOBAFire, this is my first build, and I’m writing a build for our favorite man bear pig of the League, Udyr! So apparently, I’m supposed to put some form of life story in here or something. Well, I played Annie a lot and was pretty good at that, but then I watched the “Ionia vs Noxus” grudge match and witnessed Guardsman Bob in action with Udyr. That inspired me to play Udyr, since I had NEVER seen him before and had never tried jungling. The game has changed since then (Que Tron soundtrack music), the jungle has changed (sadly), there have been MANY new champs, and even a mastery change, but Udyr has basically stayed the same. Because of this, I’m surprised to see so many people playing Udyr incorrectly. So I thought I would share a few of my ideas, as well as play tips to help better the masses of Udyr players. No, you will not win every game, and no, you will not be the carry who goes 25/0/6 every game, but you will know how to react to many different situations and counter them effectively.

Before one even begins to try and play Udyr, you should probably know a few things about him. That's why we have this handy dandy list to ***es his pros vs his cons.
Pros

Udyr HAS NO CONS! LOOK AT HIM! (Naw, only a few)
Amazing lane pusher and tower taker ( Wilding Claw and Wingborne Storm)
Damage soak shield ( Iron Mantle)
Tanky DPS Fighter
VERY Fast jungler with multiple jungle routes (we'll get to that later)
Dodge chance (for now anywho)
Speed boost for chasing or getting away ( Blazing Stampede)
Heal and mana restoration ( Iron Mantle)
Damage Steroid ( Wingborne Storm)
AS Steroid ( Wilding Claw)


Cons

Skills have no range (save

Wingborne Storm’s AoE and wave damage)
Very short range (melee only for the most part)
If CC’ed, he gets raped (but who doesn’t, besides Gangplank?)
Mana hungry in certain situations (do to Stance dancing, which I will explain later)
Kited easily
Anything else I think of at a later date (which I highly doubt I'll find)
