Ok summoners this is my main build for Ali. Lets start with the summoner spells.

SUMMONER SPELLS

I usually use FLASH because of the devastating effects of pulverize+headbutt. Flash allows you to get closer or catch your enemy off guard and knock them back to your lane partner for the kill.

Another good summoner spell with Alistar is Rally. Rally is good when you and your team are attacking the enemies towers. An extra 35 damage and 35 AP isnt that bad is it?

Of course you could swap Rallyfor EXHAUST. Allowing your headbutt+pulverize combo to really devastate your target.

ITEM BUILD

O.k guys this alistar build is a SUPPORT TANK DAMAGE build. Ap alistar is ok but this build is when you are in a game where there are no tanks other than yourself. Helping allies stay alive is always vital.

Alright lets talk strategy......................



Say if the enemy team was very reliable on their carry (i.e xin zhao, olaf, yi, MF, ashe, teemo, twitch.) and the carry happens to be AD then the following swaps may be appropriate.

WHAT?- SWAP soul shroud for THORNMAIL
WHY?- Gives a HUGE boost to armor (+100) and physical attackers get damaged when they attack you.
WHO?- xin zhao, olaf, yi, MF, ashe, teemo, twitch, and any other AD carry.
WHEN?- Buy this item as soon as possible start off with cloth armor and some pot's.
WHERE?- when you're playing league duh!
SWAP NUMBER 2

WHAT?- SWAP starks fervor for SUNFIRE CAPE
WHY?- Gives HP and armor both needed
WHO?- xin zhao, olaf, yi, MF, ashe, teemo, twitch, and any other AD carry.
WHEN?- Buy this item after you buy your warmogs or boots.
WHERE?- Do you have to ask?

That was for AD carry's but what happens when an AP carry gets tough?

SWAP NUMBER 1

WHAT?- SWAP soul shroud for BANSHEES VEIL
WHY?- Huge boost to MR (+ 57) And it blocks 1 "unfreindly" spell every 30 sec.THATS COOL!
WHO?- Ryze, veigar, morganna, nidalee, heimerdinger, annie, and any other AP carry.
WHEN?- Very first item you buy, trust me it will help
WHERE?- ^^
SWAP NUMBER 2

WHAT?- SWAP Frozen heart for FORCE OF NATURE
WHY?- Boosts up MR by 76 and makes u run faster plus HP regen. Overall kick @$$ item
WHO?- Ryze, veigar, morganna, nidalee, heimerdinger, annie, and any other AP carry.
WHEN?- After your warmogs
Thats it for items now lets talk about runes

I am not a really big fan of runes but mana regen and ap runes help alistar the most. Additional damage will help early game.

MASTERY TREE
OFFENSIVE TREE- Use the most because of alistar's passive
DEFENSIVE TREE- Use the remaining points for living :)
UTILITY TREE- This tree seriously sucks big time for alistar trust me I have tried.


SKILL SEQUENCE

You want pulverize first so you can get easy kills with flash. then upgrade accordingly, maxing your heal first. Your ultimate will help you ALOT getting kills and taking towers. Also extra damage may alow you to ACTUALLY GET A KILL!!!! But dont get too excited because this "aint" an alistar kill build. its meant for assists.

alistar is a very underrated character. And lazy people that chose rammus or malphite or eve or twtich dont play league of legends the true fun way. Picking someone you never see in games and master that character. Thats how i met this beast alistar, he is freaking pro. Anyway past the emotional part,alistar is a tank/ap character. As ive said before, dont get upset when ur ganked and u almost kill your pursuers THEN your team shows up and takes the kills. Its better to just chill out and say thanks. Another thing to keep in mind when playing alistar is USING THE F****ing CHAT!!!! So many support saver type players never chat and never develop that sense of reliability. So your lane partner doesent feel like he can depend on you to go in and save him in a sticky situation. Basicly, when you are laning with master yi and you never chat to him, he can die a bunch and say quote"WTF YOU NOOB ALISTAR YOU SUCK AT LIFE YOU HOE"unquote and leaver the fking game. And then you are really screwed, so keep your friends alive and they will help you not die as much.

As you have already seen in the summary you can swap items on here if the enemy team is either: A)~ Attack Damage
B)~ Magic Damage
Because you dont need any freaking armor when the enemy team is more abillity power then damage. Just use your head, in the ranked queue, you can see the enemy team when they are picking there characters, if someone picks vladimir and someone else picks ryze and someone else picks annie THEN DONT GO ARMOR!!!!

2/ Zhonyas hour glass
3/ THORNMAIL
4/ SUNFIRE CAPE
now you can just go sunfire capes but it boosts no mr or no damage. IT is very fun to use like with your freinds but seriously? no not in any ranked games.

well this section of the build is probably going to be the most debated part of this build. Mana per 5 sec is another swap possibility. like i have a whole page of mana regen runes. like 25 mana per 5 sec. You can also have a whole health page. Granting about 235.5 health. So in my opinion runes are all about your play style. If you like to use your heal a lot (which you should) then get some mana regen per 5 runes. If you have a tendancy to tower dive without thinking then get some health runes.

ALISTARS PROS AND CONS
PROS
~ Great lane partner
~ A definate presence in any lane
~ great tower taker downer :)
~ All around great tank
~ ult makes impossible to kill
~ ult pwns by the tower making the tower as wimpy as soraka
CONS
~ low mana pool
~ VERY SLOW "(
~ easy to take down if the team deserts you
~ wimpy damage at the start
~ A hard champ if your used to yi or jax

THESE THINGS ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS TOO LOOK OUT FOR
1) USING YOUR ULTIMATE WISELY
Your ultimate can be very usefull. observe, Alistar goes to tower in ult form. enemy gets scared and either A. runs the heck away or B. attempt to lure alistar away, if the enemy chooses B then you can stun and knock them back for an easy assist. Trust me you will NEVERBEGOODATALISTARif you never use your signature move~~ your stun plus headbutt combo. If you never do this you will never be a good alistar. Period.
