Good guide, tried this... got a triple kill + 16 - 2 :D

I like Ap Trist but it is impossible to get in a game where i cant play ap trist -.-

I just looked at the trist ap ratios and that made me figure a guide like this would be here. I normally play ap toons that are meant to be ap, and I think the difference is that the dps on most of them is higher, but their burst is smaller because they don't have the ridiculous ratios trist has. Her cooldowns are probably too long to really be viable though.

That said i commented here to point out that your runes are inferior. You can make an objectively better rune page by putting magic pen on your blue slots instead of ap, and put flat ap on two of the quints (or three, but get less mpen that way). I realized this after buying all the flat ap blue runes, which I think are pretty useless. Also, a lot of people prefer to go for ap/level on the blue, and just put in 10 magic pen total so that boots bring you to 30 pen which is the mr on champs that don't buy any extra.

Just tried out ap tristana using this build as a general guide. Carried 16/4/10 and ended up pulling out a comeback from a 55 min game. I skipped the will of the ancients and grabbed lich bane and rylai's before a revolver.

I had fun with it but its definitely a different play style then ad tristana. I'm not promoting this for ranked play but ap tristana is viable. W is great for farming and chasing. Its fun when you kill someone with it and can jump multiple times in a row. Lich bane is awesome and makes your auto attacks hit hard. You can rocket jump while chasing to close distance and proc lich bane and then use tristana's crazy auto attack range to get the kill and then jump either out of harm or keep chasing.

rocket jump isn't bad at farming, and is amazing in team fights if you get some assists/kills as you can spam it for good damage by the resetting, she has good ratios and she definitely doesn't lose her pushing power as AP gives +damage to towers, combine that with rapid fire and you kill towers just as fast if not fast if you have lichbane procs

This build is really good but I dont think AP trist is good at all, She is definetly AMAZING early game, 1 ult took half of vayne's hp and I easily killed her at lvl 10. However, as the game prolonged to around 50 min, the only dmg i can do is from my ult. I again 1 shot vayne to about 1/4 health but she dps me and I died in 1on1. And also the farming is horrible.

Rocking face with this build 10/1 27/7 7/1 yea niceee don't know why people hate ap tristana my team was feeding the enemy and we lost but i still ended 5/4 focus the squishies

@ ppl who complain about oom just harass with your E and stay back once you are lvl 6 go in for kill by going W->E->Ignite(which i prefer over exhaust)-> ult them away it is funny watching people run around being like "O**** im gonna die!!"

Your E also gives enemies the false impersonation that your attack didn't do anything when infact they are taking 300 damage (over time) at level 4. Now you just rocket jump in and goomba stomp for the kill :D

Used this in a practic game.. meh except for ult it just didnt feel right.
Then in a normal game i just got raped.. always oom long cd on explosive shot, your main harrasement and just very poor build besides the ultimate but she is just not a good ap carry with long cds low dmg

because the spell you will mostly use is Explosive shot, the mana issue ain't a problem. Getting 5 mp5 from doran's ring gives you enough mana to survive with at the beginning without going too aggresive, which is something you shouldn't do as tristana. If you got some money, go grab some mana potions aswell if you seems to have problem, and if it becomes a huge issue at the start i like to have another doran's ring just so that i can sell it later.

I will definitely try this build and vote. Btw could you add how you manage your mana? I seem to just manage with AD Tris so I'm wondering how you do it on AP Tris.

With 500 AP you would hit about 200 on the turret (40% of your AP is damaged on turrets if it overcomes your physical damage), and with the Q spell you still hit 200 1,5 times a second. I simply can't see how that is bad ...
