I completely agree with you ! Azir is not hard. Everyone says he is a mechanical nightmare and has a massive skill curve, but in reality there are champions that are much harder to master. Once you get the ' Azir mentality' I guess and get used to him, he becomes rather easy and actually fun to play. I myself like assassin type champions, who can just walk up and delete you. I don't like farming all game, and Azir really doesn't have to do that. Thank you for showing his true, aggessive side !

If you take Lethal Tempo, you would have to build differently. As in, Nashor's tooth wouldn't be as necessary on Azir if you have lethal tempo since it already provides you with the attackspeed. Whereas, for Comet and Aery, you're forced to take Nashors due to your lack of attack speed. It depends on how you like to build overrall.

And what u think about heil of blades against squishy team , cuz i mostly farm entire early game in preparation for mid/late hardcarry and i dont realy look for early kills on lane , soo i dont find comet/aery realy usefull , and attack speed realy boost his teamfights and comet helps only on lane , later on game falls off , but LT and HoB are much more usefull in late game (sr for bad english)

Good guide. Just wanted to note that Aery shield only procs when you buff or heal allies. Doesn't count for yourself.

A very good guide... I got Warring kingdoms Azir recently, and decided to pick him up. Had a bit of difficulties, so I came to a guide. This guide was very helpful to me, and I feel like I learned a lot about Azir, and I even went into practice tool and practiced some combos. I feel like the amount of info concerning combos was short, and you should add more, like you said you would, and explain how to properly use each combo.

I was also skeptical because Azir is not that good rn

Glad to see that my guide was really helpful. Sorry about the fact that I haven't touched it in a while. I haven't taken the time to touch my guide in a while now. I've been neglecting it I guess. Promise I'll get to explaining those combos soon. I understand your skepticism, but honestly, Azir is either really good or he's just bad. In all honesty, his kit is overpowered and Riot has difficulty balancing him. At this point in time, I'd say that he's bad. Bad in terms of meta. As he still can do extremely well when played properly. It's just that, metas always define what champions are stronger.

I was planning on making a video explaining combos, but I never really got to it. Not sure if I should make a video or just type it down like I've done with the rest of the guide.

So I've been considering buying Azir for a while, but with his hefty price, and the fact that i could get several other champions for what i would pay for him (ip, not rp), ive been hesitant. I just wanted to know if you thought he might be a good pick for me. He looks like a lot of fun, but hard to learn. My normal mains are cho mid/top, naut support, twitch adc, ziggs mid, and rengar jungle. just based on their average play style, would you think azir might be a good fit for me or should i try to find someone a bit more tuned to my style?

Your situation is pretty understandable. I was in the same situation as you before, I thought of the 6300 ip price as daunting. Especially since Azir seemed like an extremely complex champion to learn. I didn't want to waste my precious 6300 ip on a champion that I wouldn't be able to play. Moreover, I mained assassin champions, which made it even weirder to even buy Azir as a champion. Regardless, I'll be honest here, none of the champions you named really coincide with Azir's playstyle other than Ziggs. And even then, they aren't that similar. If anything, Azir is a beast of his own because he's a control mage with engage, poke and disengage (he's basically broken, hence why all the nerfs). You may play different champions, but that doesn't exactly mean it's your defined style. You should know what you're really searching for. Nonetheless, if I were you, I wouldn't let my "playstyle" block me from trying out a new champion. You can go watch some videos on youtube like gameplay or montages to see if anything in his kit interests you. If it makes you feel better, my top 4 most played champions are Rengar, Irelia, Vayne and Azir. And they're playstyles aren't the same whatsoever. I just enjoy playing the champion in general. Worst case scenario, if you really aren't sure about whether or not you want to buy Azir, you can wait for the free week rotation. I'm not exactly sure of the next time Azir will be able to come on free week, but it's a good time to test him out. If you find yourself interested in him the same way I did, you'll eventually save up some IP and buy him. If not, it isn't the end of the world, you'll find other champions out there. There are 140 champions in league of legends at the moment, I'm sure you'll be able to find something.

Hope that helped, sorry for replying a day late :)

Thank you so much man ! i bought him and tried him he's so much fun but hard to play , needs a lot of practice . Like you said he has engages ,pokes and disengages and his damage late is insane .
Again thanks so much ^^

Isn't barrier better than ignite for azir?

Tehqo (3) | April 19, 2018 5:59pm
I labeled my guide as "Agressive Azir" because I found it all too common for Azir players to be getting defensive runes. All in all, it really just depends on your playstyle and the matchup that you're in. I put Ignite as the main thing because it's viable in most scenarios. If you feel that you're going to need barrier to withstand some sort of burst, go for it. But I like to play aggressively that's all. Moreover, depending on the matchups and your confidence, you might want to opt for different summoner spells. If you think you're going to be in a farming lane where you can't kill your opponent (Anivia), you might as well get TP. If you're in a lane where getting CC'd will mean your death (Zoe), you might as well get Cleanse. If the enemy laner relies heavily on some sort of burst and you're afraid of not being able to handle it, get Exhaust or Barrier. If you're confident in winning the matchup, get ignite.

Regardless, the choice for summoner spells are really up to you as they are extremely situational with Azir. He's one of the few champions that can literally use any summoner spell. Although, I wouldn't recommend taking Ghost on azir.
