@Trans4M - Ah, NOW I get what you mean :P well I've been making some tests on games, and now I can see your point, you might as well get another item instead of manamune, indeed.

Well, tbh, I'm making a divided section on the item choices now, (such as the one in an in-depth Sivir guide out there O.o) so that you have it for new players, who will probably spam Volley a bit more and a section for those who know ashe already, that way I can make it easier for people to understand why on Manamune ;) Thanks for the contribution, Trans4M! I'll update the guide as soon as I get more time (right now I'm about to do some shopping and do some BBQ with friends, yum!)

well in the laning phase you dont really need to use your skills as you be farming. When a fight in lane breaks out, you dont really need to use your frost arrow. Frost arrow only slows movement speed so its more useful against ad melees or enemies who are running away. SO why would you put it up in the first place? You won't be trying to kite against another AD. Like seriously try kiting against Caitlyn who has the same attack range as you. You run back and you take 1 hit and by the time you face back to shoot at them, you also take another hit. So basically you are taking 2 hits in an attempt to try and get 1 hit. You use it when she starts running away so you can continue to hit at her without her getting out of range.

As for volley you cant always rely on throwing it up. Other plays know to stand behind their minions while hitting you so that minions will block the volley you cast. Also how many times are you going to use it during laning phase? You are not pushing. You can try harassing with volley but if you do it too much you are going to run out of mana regardless if you have tear or not. So it doesnt make a difference imo.

I guess you could go tear if you wish. But would you really get it that early? 995 gold spent early on could be used to purchase a berserker's greaves which probs provide more benefit to you while laning. But since you don't wan't attack speed, maybe even botos of swiftness to allow you more harassment e.g. hit and run back a bit. Maybe get tear a bit later?

Don't get me wrong I like the idea. It's creative but it seems strange on paper. I will definately give it a test when I get the chance to and then give you proper feedback from there. XD

Wow, thanks everyone for the comments, now to answer you:

@Trans4M - When you refer to using Ashe right, you mean what, exactly? Maybe you could give me an example of a situation where Manamune wouldn't help?
Also, I don't like Black Cleaver for her since I'd rather get extra movement speed from Phantom Dancer, rather than attack speed only (as I already explained in the guide, the cost of mana per sec on your frost shot is more effective when you have more damage and less attack speed).

@Temzilla - it doesn't cost tons of mana, unless you're near the 1.5+ Attack speed, THEN it does cost a very very critical ammount of mana, since you'd be wasting 8 mana to re apply a debuff that can't stack

@ovnoglavi - The reason I level frost shot before (how come didn't I say why in the guide xD) is simply because the slow effect gets stronger and once it hits lvl 5 it's a deadly slow that simply doesn't allow enemy champions to escape unless they flash or ghost away. On the other hand, Hawkshot only increases my gold gain, which (honestly) is only much if you backdoor a lot or have an absolutely pro last hitting (which in case, I dont xD), so yes, I get your point, but as a personal preference I level my frost shot first.

Ok, I'm pretty much liking the comments up until now :) I hope you all enjoy the Frost Archer's style of life ^^

Nice build, but... I realy don't see why one would spam voley so much and fire frost shots at minions??? You are fighting against two champs in the lane, posibly with an ally... The only time you should activate your Q is when fighting champs, not waste it on minions! So I think that Manamune, and Tear at start is really a wast of money!
One other thing, I take a point at frost shot and leave it... I max Volley first, then Hawkshot!!! 5 gp for a minion kill? Who would waste that?!? It's your little bank!!!
Consider the things I said, try it out and don't be mad at me, bro!!! This is just my opinion on how Ashe should be played...
But I surely give you credit for a good looking guide!!! I won't give you a tumbs up, but I won't downvote it either it would be childish, you've put a lot of effort in this build!!!

I wish you good gaming...

Ashe actually doesnt have mana problems if you are using her right. Your aim in the laning phase isnt to really spam your volley but instead last hit minions. Also Manamune doesnt really help ashe out that much. You probs get 40 attack damage and thats it. You can get that amount of damage from a Blackcleaver and also have that armour reduction effect which will be more helpful.

Frost shot costs tons of mana brooo.

You can't win trades without Volley.

That's one of the reasons ashe is bad right now.
