This is my custom build for Sona.

Sona is my favorite champion. She's the best support in my oppinion and can really change the game direction. The coolest about Sona is that most enemies underestimate her. "Ohh, it's just Sona over there, let's crush her!". And is then that we can turn on the table, even dealing a great damate with Hymn of Valor and Power Chord.

However, we should not forget that Sona is a support and your mission is to keep your allies alive and buffed. Do not let the assassin demons upon your shoulder tell you: "Hey, leave your ally alone and chase that ready to die enemy!". A good support should help the team to kill over getting kills. Also, you should be alive to support your team most of the time.

As your main role as a support is to keep your team alive, it's important to have enough health to be alive and therefore, heal and buff your allies. So, I go for health and cooldown reduction runes. Cooldown reduction is also important so you can use the abilities more often.

For now, I go 0/0/30 as utility masteries are usually better for supports.

TIP: Insight (mastery) and Clarity works well and allows Sona to also heal mana from your allies.

I go with Teleport and Clairvoyance. I use Teleport to get more mobility and support allies in other lanes. Clairvoyance helps the allies to avoid and team up ganks, as well as getting enemies jungling.

Early Game

It is time to be totally careful. Remember that your mission as a support is to support your team. So, forget about doing ganks and chasing enemies, focus in healing and helping your friends.

Furthermore, you can stack well power chord and Hymn of Valor to surprise the enemies with a good damage.

It is time to get Aria of Perseverance always as possible, so you can keep your allies alive and killing enemies.
