Hello summoners, Imo either all the guides are outdated or ppl dont know how to play Skarner. Many builds i see just dissapoint me since Rod of Ages and any ap items on skarner seems just useless in skarner by my opinion.

READ THIS: Skarner is a hybrid champion who excels in jungle and benefits MOSTLY from:

Attack Speed
Flat Attack Damage
Movenment Speed

Many people will say "why not Ap?? dude!" .. incoming folks

Its simply becouse his Q spell Crystal Slash Have 0,8 ad Ratio + 49 dmg from lvl 1.

100dmg skarner crystal slash deals at rank 5: 72 + 85 +(100*0.8) = 237 dmg + consider ur cooldown and u proc in Sheen... (Ur lvl 18 base dmg) 231 + 100 item ad + sheen proc 331 + Crystal slash 237 = 899 dmg .. thats insane

"Why not ap?"

200 ap skarner = crystal slash 72 + 85 + (200*0.4) + sheen proc (if there is) + 231 base ad on lvl 18 = 699 <--- thats why not ... alone seems not much a difference .. but its around 18% less dmg...

Attk speed: OP passive... open Ur W and E spells twice in the same engage than once w/o attck speed (that happens if u get tanky or ap instead of Hybrid/ad/attck speed)..

Exoskeleton gives u 250 hp shield at last rank. It has 0.6 ratio. 2 Shield = 500 hp, while 1 shield requires 1 giant belt to equal the health u gain (+ u lose the OP buff) or U need around 460 ap with that rates.

Same goes for Fracture. Spam it instead of buffing it.. Ratios are 0.7 and 0.3 on health gained back.

THINK THAT. Sheen + lots of attck speed + Hexteck = Uber spamming and life stealing

Why Move speed? U are the Hunter, U are the initiator, u can pick up a target in 5vs1 slain him and leave like a boss >.> , once u stick on some1.. no matter who is he, he never leaves alive.

Ok.. its 5vs5 .. u see and open spot.. flash + ult = drag enemy ap or ad carry into ur team.. its a 5vs1 nuke.. never last longer than 5 sec.. 4vs5 team fight

Dude thats situational..

After core build u can get either tanky (atmogs) either Assasin (Infinity or Bf) or grab a bashee + wits end vs Ap team. The Builds are endless. Depends. You Are the player.

Many peeps will ask: why not wits over phantom dancer? .. Coz Mov speed is OP on skarner. If u do it right u ll understant. Thats also the reason u buy it before phage. A smart player knows when to back of. As a skarner even at lvl 10 with a zeal and boot u can survive or catch the kill. With phage u can just sustain 1 more auto attack.

Why not manamune? Its a waste of gold. Why? Consider this.. 2nd recall after jungle.. u can buy sheen or tear. 30 sec later u are Versous enemy bruiser.. tear = lose , sheen = win. Same reason u dont buy it on the next Recals. After lvl 11 or catalyst is useless.

Why ap?? Read above..

Why not tanky?? Want a tanky bruiser? get shyvana or yorick.. they are better at it.

Why not Philo (shurelias) or Heart of gold? Do u play fiora, trynda, master yi with philo? xD
