Thank you guys for your feedback

I'll totally consider some more MR late game, and lich bana probably right after I finished my archangel :)

I'll let ya know how it worked out!

You have no MR to survive against casters, you have little damage (No rabbadon at the very least?), you only have 2 skills actually worth having AP for (And are much worse in comparison with other similar champs like Sion or Yi). These are the main things in your build.

Note that Powerfist does extra AD damage, so Lich Bane's worth is just an add on, instead of a multiplier.

Hope it helps.

I have attempted AP blitzcrank before and come short. Your build is alot less AP than i thought but here are some things to consider:

1. You have no Magic Resistance.

2. Not really much AP either... your defense becomes your strongest point, but without cooldowns, your utility is low and really offers not much to the battle as most people will ignore you for last. Not trying to sound negative because this can be considered as balanced.

3. Most experienced Blitzcrank players offer the rationale that he is not meant to be AP because apart from his ult and grab (which is not meant to be used as a nuke), building AP is simply much too costly due to the nature of his role in the lanephase.

As an example build of how i previously built my AP Blitzcrank, the main items i took were Lich Bane, Zhonya's Hourglass, and Rylai's Crystal Scepter.

Compared to your items, dont you think that at least Lich Bane is a neccesary item for AP blitzcrank?

Some more thoughts, this time on items. For a build that's designed to be tanky, you are quite lacking in magic resist when at full build. Also, Thornmail and Frozen Heart don't synergise at all. I would reccomend having only one or the other. You'll get more out of Frozen heart as Blitzcrank than you will with thornmail. Thornmail gives you 1 additional point of armour, and no other stats. It's passive is only effective if you are hit by auto attacks (powers that do physical dmg don't generally proc thronmail), and is only an advantage worth considering if the enemy team's AD carry has plenty of attack speed, has less than 30% lifesteal, and attacks you specifically. Frozen Heart reduces the damage output of the entire enemy team (regardless of who they are targeting), gives you basically the same armour, 500 mana, and 20% cdr. There's really no comparison between them in this case. The only thing that thornmail has over Frozen Heart, is that it's cheaper.

So, taking Thornmail out of the build leaves a void that needs a replacement item. Some items to consider for this would be atma's impaler (even though the build is AP you can benefit this way from all that hp and get armour and crit at the same time), trinity force, will of the ancients (auras increase overall team damage output, especially since blitz fights best when with his allies anyways), Zhonya's Hourglass (situational only, but it works with the goal of the build), Sunfire Cape (the hp/armour complement nicely and it gives 35 more magic dps in aoe). Some possibilities that give you that magic resist are Abyssal Scepter (good for squishy enemy teams), Banshee Veil (the shield is great, and the mana and hp it gives synergise perfectly), or a Force of Nature if you need 1 item to provide all of your magic resist (the regen, %hp regen, and move speed are great too). One more to consider if you don't need much more defence at this point in a game is Lich Bane. The AP, magic resist, mana, and crazy awesome proc all work super great.

Just some things to consider. Hope this helps too.

Just a quick note about your choice in masteries. I think that for the utility tree, it is quite worth sacrificing the 6% cdr from Inteligence to put the points into Strength of Spirit. With your mana pool hitting over 3k by end game, the 30+ hp regen/sec is going to help out a lot more. Besides, with your cdr so high, you won't benifit much from any auras or buffs you get in a game such as blue buff or if someone gets a soul shroud, just as an example.

Hope the feedback helps.
