Why?
Kayn is probably one of my best pocket picks for the top lane.
Personally, I hate the top lane, I can only play Swain, Gangplank and Kayn to somewhat enjoy myself while actually not trolling.

Which form?
If you ever ask me, it will be Rhaast. Always Rhaast. If your up against a top ADC, then don't go Kayn. You will get punished, your poke from W will not even exist. Save yourself the torture, and go another ranged top laner.
How?
In my opinion, Kayn on top shines a lot only because of his capabilities for getting his transformation a lot more quicker.
Engaging is extremely powerful, as your early damage can really give you some lane pressure. A good example is Sett. If he takes his AA reset ability on level one, you deliver Sett some powerful hits. Use this in synergy with your W, you can take off about 200 damage.

Runes?
The runes are a bit odd but you need the extra HP from engaging. That's all I can say really. Try proc your conqueror on early for extra stackage!
