Corki, Didn't they nerf him?!
Corki is, to my opinion, one of the best damage maker of this game. His only problem is that you will need to play with a tank/support in your lane, or to play really safe solo laning (if you get the solo lane).
About the item selection, some may say that other items could suit him better, I say that this combination is pretty good. Once you will have your Sword of the occult with 8-10 stacks, you shall be feared from the other team.
In teamfights, wait until your team initiate, then throw a Gatling Gun (e), then focus their carry and shoot some Missile Barrage (r) and blind them with your Phosphorus Bomb (q) and auto-attack the focused one. You should be able to take down most champions with this strategy, which is one of the basic combo with Corki.
Summoner Spells
I use teleport. It helps you to set up ganks, get back to tower quickly after spawn regen, protect towers etc. Really useful in 5v5 but useless in 3v3.
My other spell is flash. It's always useful to catch up ennemy or as a second Valkyrie when escape is the only solution. You'll be the juke master with this spell.
Item Choice
Sword of the Occult: A must. As a mage would go mejai, I propose you to try this item for a good dmg boost (100dmg at 20stack + 15% movement speed).
Wriggle's Lantern: I think this item is pretty useful since it gives you some good damage, nice lifesteal and also allow you to place a SIGHT ward every 3 minutes. Pretty useful to counter those tricky ganks.
Berserker's Greaves: This is where you can feel free to choose what you want. Boots will depend on the ennemy's team composition. If they have a lot of AP get the magic resist boots, if they have lots of AD, get the armor. You get the concept. Though, if you see you have a clear advantage on the ennemy team, get these.
The Black Cleaver: This item is your masterpiece. It gives you some nice dmg while causing your attacks to lower ennemy's armor. You MUST NOT forget this item.
Last Whisper: This item will give you the extra armor penetration you needed to get those tanks down. What could you ask more?
Infinity Edge: This item is not necessary, but if you manage to get to it, go ahead and buy it. Makes your crit deal 250% and gives you a sweet damage bonus. Exactly what you needed!
TIPS
- Try to use Valkyrie to escape if you're low on health.
- If you get ganked, throw a Phosphorus bomb (q),which will blind your targets so you get less damaged, then use your Valkyrie to escape the gankers.
- Always remember to use Gatling gun in team ganks! It's the key to get those tricky tanks by lowering their armor!
- Remember to always stand far from your ennemies and let the tank do their job up front.
