I assume you meant over W since I leveled up E at level 2.

That's a good point. Here's my answer:
That works against some top laners. It works against those who don't have dashes in their kit. If you try to do the full combo on a Renekton, after you pull him, he's going to stun you and slice and dice away. The short answer is if they have an escape, maxing your burst (lvl 3 Q) will be better, but if they do not have an escape, then your answer works even better. In that case, I'd still get E at level 2, but I'd pick up W at level 3 like you say.

So level up your abilities based on your matchup. No guide should be followed to the letter every game. Q, E, Auto, W is more damage than lvl2Q, E, auto. Do what's best for the situation.

I often have a point in each ability at level 3 myself. I just thought I'd stress the "poking" and trading power of the level 2 Q in this guide. In fact, I should say that the golden opportunity with the way I wrote my guide would be level 4.
