Im truly sorry you guys are not liking what you see. However, have you TRIED the build. Let me clarify some of the CONFUSING elements. Ninja Tabi is something I like to get because it not only aids his early game but it makes him more viable for laning and roaming. It gives him exactly what he needs, more damage. He can sit in the lane for as long as he needs, run off and kill the Jungle and come right back to laning. Ninja Tabi are indeed very useful on Rammus, just as they are with Malphite and other heroes.

Also, Rammus going pure tank items is all he needs with his passive. With all those tank items Rammus gets around 240+ Attack Damage, more than enough with the items to do some real damage. Buying items like a Trinity Force or Atma's/Warmog's just slow him down.

SECONDLY! All of you are disagreeing with the Rune Choice, Masteries, ETC. This is not a Tank guide, it is a CARRY guide for those who want to be more like a Poppy. There is PLENTY of MR in this guide to be viable and if you are struggling with AP teams you can stack up more Magic Resist. For example, instead of GA, get 2 FoN and a Banshee's Veil instead. You should understand what situation means. Here is also the big explanation, THE ENTIRE POINT OF THORNMAIL AND THE AP REDS AND MASTERIES is based of the damage you do after a taunt. When you play Rammus defensively, you guys are all correct. However, you do not do nearly as much Damage (As you shouldn't your a tank) as you do with these mastery set ups. I want someone to try this build and use the combo on an Ashe or a Caitlyn or a Trynd. Any squishy carry, and watch the damage you do. The AP runes DO help on your auto attacks I GUARANTEE you you will see the difference. If you REALLY don't see it, I want to hear it from someone who has tried this. What taunt does is it FORCES their carry to do damage to themselves. I have Thornmail, Defensive Ball Curl, Tremors, and Sunfire cap. These all stack and do an incredible amount of damage. You are an ANTI-CARRY that can obliterate any of their carries on their team without taking that much damage. I urge someone (Even you Unremarkable), I beg someone to actually TRY the build, use the tips I have given you. Respectable scores will follow from it I promise. Thank You

Rammus does more than enough damage because of his armor passive & (W), which is what makes him viable all on it's own. Armor Pen should be Magic Pen. Magic Pen does wonders with non-AP champs that have AP dmg skills; Warwick. If you want to have a damage output as Rammus, an atk speed like Wit's End could throw the enemies pretty far off guard, mostly viable Early game to Mid-game.

Another viable way of causing some havoc early to mid game is full atk speed runes (38% Attack Speed) and Boots of Swiftness (1st item) vs Mellee (bad idea ranged lane) unless you have a good ranged with you already. Your job as rammus is to make people target you, which means being a threat/aggression in their eyes. Sacrificing the little ammount of HP, MR, Armor, etc isn't much of a sacrifice for Rammus. The following runes suggested often is only suggested if your stupidity makes you easy to kill early game. Make sure you choose your lane based on the opponents and allies you have with you, blindly choosing a lane makes a huge scar on your chances.

The benefit of having atk speed is; an enemy chases your (squishy) ally, Rammus can chew him up in the process, usually catches them BOTH by suprise, ending in a double kill for you or your teamate. Also will be a viable way to make yourself useful ganking, instead of just his Q and E, it will also be a burn on the target's spine.

Not enough MR to be viable.

Also, your runes are silly. Rammus does mostly MAGIC damage. So armor pen runes are dumb.

I see what you are trying to do by stacking armor and his passive...it just isn't viable.

The entire idea of using Ninja Tabi boots on Rammus is idiotic, not only when you're trying to do damage with him but in general.

"Rammus goes into a defensive formation for 6 seconds, increasing his armor and magic resistance by 50/75/100/125/150 and returning 26/32/38/44/50[(+0.10)*(armor)] magic damage to attackers."

Also, thornmail is always situational, if they don't have a high AS carry, there really is no reason to get it.

Overall, don't see this as being viable.

Rammus damage is pathetic, he shouldn't be played as a carry. Plus the fact you got pure tank items, shouldn't it prompt you to become a tanker? This means your masteries are not good, seeing 21 9 0 won't give you the godly tankyness your capabilities hold. In fact, Rammus is not good as a carry OR spellcaster, seeing none of his skills complement either damage method. Anyway, even though you go for damage, you still have a decent amount of tankyness. I suggest you replace sunfire cape and Force of Nature with things like Randuin's Omen and Warmog armor. Sunfire provides less than decent tankyness seeing that most Rammus players excels best in tanking, the 35 magic damage is not good to be useful, nobody will actually target you if they can target another 1st. Force of Nature has a good unique passive, but 0.35% of your health is way too little health regen, easily outdone by warmog. Randuin's Omen is the best item for anti-carries unless you taunt your enemies while warmog has a total of 1350 health boost, which is invaluable for most tanks.

Hope it helps :)
