Came to this guide a long time ago to learn to play Heimerdinger. Remembered something about support Heimerdinger earlier today. Tried it. S- and a chest.

Thank you for sharing this!

Not a fan. I played using this vs a blitzcrank and I have no less than 3 instances that i can see in the replay where blitz's grab goes straight through my turrets

While this is good and all, I think you might be skimping a little with the match-ups, especially Brand.

Although an unconventional support, Brand counters Heimerdinger particularly well so you may want to put him a little higher on the list.

Thank you very much for the guide. This is the best guide I've seen so far.I bought a skin for Heimerdinger and tought wow she will be fun I'll main her for sure, well long story short I sucked, HARD. I was giving up on Heimerdinger and tought come on, I gotta give her another shot.So I searched for a guide I found your guide but tought sooooooo loooooong so I ˝took˝ another build. It didn't go well so I went back to your build and I took some time to read it.My first tought after reading this was ˝I love you, I love you so so much˝.I love how you took the time and effort to make this guide. I can see that you have a passion for Heimerdinger.Your guide is the best of all the guides i saw for ALL champions. The section for counters is very good..... WAIT ALL SECTIONS ARE GREAT AND WELL TOUGHT OF! 11/10 GJ Keep it up! (Sorry for the grammar mistakes english is not my native laungage)

Heimer is absolutely a solid support. Between Zyra and him, he has way more harass and utilities to deal with laneing phase and gank relief. A few things of note:

1) I think you should try Rylai's and consider updating your build accordingly. As many people, I've noticed, don't really know how to handle Heimer (at lower ELO, I guess), I find he frequently gets jumped on with one or so turrets up. Pop a couple more, and you're very likely to gun down a slow walking opponent or five. Also nice with the ult.

2) Armor or hybrid protection as needed. I've taken ZZ depending on if I can use it well and the enemy team comp. It's not much, but I've found with a little boost to defenses, enemies can unload and leave me with just enough HP to scamper off while they get stuck in my ice-spamming turrets.

3) Your placement guide is really the only thing I disagree with. Putting turrets in the middle of the lane encourages fast turret death, limits your control, and will make your ADC rage as he loses CS.

Best placement has consistently been in the bushes (2 on their side, 1 on yours) snug against the wall (target the middle of the wall when dropping them so they are all the way over). This gives you perpetual bush control and vision, and as the enemy goes to take out turrets, they will usually take a laser to the face. If I am in the bushes, as I usually am, they also tend to eat rockets and a Thunderlord proc. Honestly, losing a turret and taking out up to 30% of their health is totally worth it--especially since you will likely have one or two more bots to drop after, so you can keep spamming the bushes.

Heimer is very versatile. I am sure using him as a support won't get you past gold in ranked, but I don't even care about ranked. I enjoy the hell out of regular matches, and playing as Heimer support, I've been able to get >80% win rate.

The absolute hardest and best thing to master is turret dumping on a blitz/thresh grab. If you can predict when they are about to grab and drop a turret at the same time directly in the path, you burnt their mana and CD and will get some nice damage in as they deliver bullets right to their face.

Thank you for the ideas! I have been trying a few new things here and there with my Heimer this season, and things like the ZZ do have their place!

Just to defend my position on the turrets, I would only keep 1 in the bot lane itself, the other 2 go as a kind of "door" in the river (so that the jungler cannot gank from there) and the bot lane turret should be placed well back from where the CS will be occurring (it should act as a safe spot to back up to). My reasoning behind not placing them in the bushes is that they can give site to the enemy prematurely (I may need to make this logic clearer). Of course this all depends on who you are supporting and their play style! If your laning partner is aware of the vision issues, placing a turret in the bushes can be super for zoning and giving YOUR side vision. To each his own!

I love that you're adding Support Dinger in this mix. Heimerdinger was my main waaaay before the rework.

Something to add to your tribomb tactic: Excellent technique and I've done it a ton of times (not just in tri-bush... in every bush).

But when executing a gank (as you posted) or a counter gank (Ex: seeing the enemy jungle coming through dragon, and responding with three turrets in your river bush before he arrives), a big tip is to either: wait last minute, let them shut down, or have some sort of pull.

Reason: This has become less important as the laser turret feature was born, but having a way to ensure your turrets do NOT engage a target before they are in the bush and nade stunned is paramount to success. Great players, especially, will hear your lasers about to fire and will flash before your burst can get them. Other players will take a few hits before getting into the middle of your tri-bomb, and thus turn around and avoid it all.

Another Tactic: The Wait n' Bait

Ever known exactly where the enemy blue ward was and was forced to avoid it? Heimer shouldn't. What his turrets allow him to do is be in 2 places at once. The trick here is to act like a ward and play on the minds of others. Have three turrets out on lane, walk up to them every once in a while to refresh them. Meanwhile, stand in the river bush with your full compliment of turrets and an ult ready to go. Your turrets and ADC will naturally push. Jungle will naturally come down to say hello. Jump him when he thinks he has the jump on you (a blue ward on the ledge near river bush is suggested, as well as the ability to hold all three turrets in reserve).

That's about it. If you think you can use it or the extra tip, by all means go ahead. Otherwise, it's time to make a guide for Topperdinger. I LOVE playing him up top. His kit is incredible for it. Lots of passive sustain and plays it just like mid but against more melee characters. Too fun (against most). Like always, he has his counters (Fiora till you get Hourglass, Chogath late game), but otherwise, super fun.

Not bad guide eventhough you received some trolls over here. But there are still few points I would like to bring in front.

- Masteries are only partly done
- now you can also try to buy greater stealth trinket instead of sightstone if you don't need wards pre lvl-9, it can happen from time to time if you just have to freeze the lane
- you were talking about "reverse flash" -technique, it's important part of playing heimy but surprise zhonya after that move can give additional advantage. On sololanes, rushing zhonya is always a great way to itemize. I am quite sure that it would give an advantage also as a support.
- I saw some complaints about full ap -runes and stuff like that. Those can work, but it really depends on matchup. Sometimes going full ap and punishing enemies for their bad early game (or some other weakness) can be better than "normal"-runes with armor and magic resist.

Thank you very much for the feedback! I had made some fixes but neglected to hit "publish" as well as "save" (first guide). I will also definitely add the Zhonya's thing to the reverse flash section, as that is super important!
