Fiddles is a soft ap carry that can devastate enemy teams. I have played Fiddlesticks many times mostly in ranked with much success. Knowledge of other champions skills is the key to getting kills. Fearing the wrong person or starting drain at the wrong time can cause instant death. And remember Fiddlesticks is only as good as his ult.

They pretty much explain themselves. It is obvious that damage is important when using fiddles because his drain/ spell vamp is how he stays alive. The more damage he can do with drain the more health he can recover. Building runes and masteries to have a lot of damage and the ability to solo blue is the best set up.

First you must know to start with an amplifying tome and a health potion. Fiddlesticks does best when starting at blue. Doing this requires teamwork to guard Fiddlesticks from enemy ganks. First level drain and auto attack the blue once and then quickly use drain. When the first drain ends auto again the use your health potion, attack again then smite, attack again then use drain. This should finish blue so now drain his creeps and move on to wolves. Level fear on your way. Auto the main wolf and quickly drain a blue one. After that ends auto attack the main one and drain the other blue when it gets off cool down. After finishing the last wolf go to the ghosts. First auto a red one and then drain another. When smite comes back smite the blue one and drain another. During this the red one you auto attacked should be killed with autos. Level drain then move on to red and kill one of his creeps and move on to golems. Kill them off then go back to the red and finish it. This should make you level 4. It should now be under 4:30 in the game and time to gank.

When in ranked constant map awareness is important. Look for wards and what enemy has them. See what lane is an easy gank and talk to teammates to be successful. Fiddles ult has a long cool down so make sure you set your gank right cause a blown early gank and wasted ult can set you back. Fiddlesticks can dominate early, but only with a good gold supply. Enemy carries are the easiest target for fiddles to prey on. Look to ult or even an ult + flash combo to pounce on a soft enemy carry.

Team work is a must with Fiddlesticks. Fiddlesticks ult must be effective in a team fight for your team to win. Make sure your tank is expecting your ult and knows to stay in range for you to hop in the fight. A team with cc should use it when fiddles starts channeling his ult. One good fiddles ult with teamwork can ace an enemy team.

Fear - A nasty 3 seconds of free abuse to an enemy champion. Enemy casters can be easily shut down by a fear and dark wind combo. Use it wisely, because without your fear your free to be attacked.

Drain - Your best source of survivability. If fiddlesticks is not draining then he is a quick kill. Use when you know your drain can not be interrupted (during fear, silence, or after enemy casts their cc).

Dark Wind - A great silence to combo with your ult. Used best at the beginning of your ult. Make sure it hits any cc that can cause you to lose enemy team.

Crowstorm - Fiddles most important skill. Timing and position are everything when using your ult. Make sure your ult can not be interrupted and the enemy can not get out of range in your 1.5 channel time. In late game your ults should be used when a fight breaks out and focus on the enemy's carry or softer champions. Ulting a tank will do little good compared to dropping a carry or even a support. Remember a Fiddlesticks is only as good as his ult.

Sorcerers shoes - Magic pen (If fiddlesticks is not doing damage he is dead)

Will of the Ancients - Spell Vamp + Crowstorm + Drain + Dark Wind = instant healing

Rylai's Crystal Scepter - Health + good ap + slow with crowstorm/drain = success

Rabadon's Deathcap - Insane ap = more health stolen for fiddles

Void Staff - Necessary magic pen to keep good spell vamp and damage

Zhonya's Hourglass - Great active with crowstorm or used to tank and wait for drain cd (if drain was interrupted). If used right can devastate enemy team.

Fiddlesticks takes practice to perfect and knowledge of his capabilities. A good fiddles can easily take over a game, but only with practice. My build is a squishy version of fiddles, but high damage and spell vamp. This is extremely rewarding if played correctly.
