Yeah Garen is not as effective as he used to be unfortunately, I personally don't play him anymore

eh, standard build nothing to see here. The main problem with tank garen is that it will turn into **** late game. You won't have any dmg output (judgement scaling is ****) and no CC so will just be ignored as your carries get butchered. Garen might be OP early game, but fed garen is worse than any other fed champ, that's the reason why I stopped playing it. Anyways for those who still wanna try the build may I suggest you try to let the carries get fed, I have lost some games with scores like 26-5 with a similar build.

this is a good build, +1 now do you ever have a problem with enemies getting away early on? with my garen build i rush frozen mallet for more control

This build rocks and constantly hear that Garen is OP using it.
this is my personal adaptation of the build; I am using CDR since I have it instead of magic resist for glyphs. Once I get the IP, I'll probably switch.
The item start I use is slightly different, I start with regrowth pendant instead of boots and wait in the bushes... usually with a partner like Sion where we can get early ganks. Once I can afford boots of swiftness I grab it. This allows me to judgement right on the enemy champions more often.

amazing build. im asking why so many garrens here posted such weird builds?^^ yours is probably one of the best i think. and it always works. i think its hard to have negative stats with this build. and you´re always very helpfull for your team. +1

I was thinking about this when I made the build actually as I personally use them but Chauster was using armour runes so I think I'll changed that and thanks for +1.

This build is almost perfect for tank Garen, save for one thing. Wouldn't dodge runes be better in the yellow slots over a flat 12.69 armor? This will keep your move speed up from masteries a lot more and likely mitigate more damage than the flat armor.
