Let's suppose you start the game and buy the first starting item, excluding the Corrupting Potion.

Depending on how much gold you have left, the following cases are possible:

1) You have at least 200 gold.

2) You have 150 to 199 gold

3) You have less than 150 gold

You have to decide whether to buy the Refillable Potion immediately or at the next recall, or always buy the health potions.

The best solution, based on statistics and costs, is the following:

First of all you need to know how to roughly evaluate how many charges you will use for the entire early game. This depends on your champion and your opposing enemy champion and enemy jungler.

If you feel that a maximum of 3 charges will be enough for the entire early game, buy the correct number of Health Potions you have rated.

This is a difficult choice because if you fail to evaluate or there are rare cases in which you immediately consume your potions, you will be forced to recall buying other potions losing other golds, because at this point it was better to buy the refillable potion. So, learn to evaluate very well this point.

For case 1) You can also buy 4 potions,

without the need to recall.

A slot with 4 or 5 Health Potions therefore is always better than the Refillable Potion which forces you to recall every 2 charges.

So in this case the Refillable Potion is only useful if you plan to upgrade it to the Corrupting Potion for the other stats and abilities it provides.

For the case 2) You must only buy the refillable potion if you believe you will be using at least 4 charges. In fact now you can't have a 4x Health Potions slot right away, so buy the Refillable directly.

For the case 3) You can't buy the Refillable Potion immediately. At the next recall however you can collect max 5 Health Potion again, so continue buying Health Potions (the correct number for the entire early game in one shopping action). If you have 500 gold you can buy directly Corrupting Potion for the other stats and abilities it provides.
