Champion Build Guide

How to ward like a Challenger or better in every lane!

By EzFlow997
Introduce Myself
Hello, you may call me EzFlow997

I have been playing League of legends since season 6 and I find the game to be quite entertaining and I'm always eager to learn new ways to beat my enemy. I main Velkoz and mostly just one trick him now since season 7.

You may find me on multiple accounts such as Bekoz Im Vel, OliverQueen77, Velkuz BOT, and my new account OTP zoKleV.

I am creating this guide to help all the summoners out there who are looking to improve their game play with simple fixes such as ward placements. With improving my wards from season 8, I can make around 160 vision score per hour on a "good" game as support. Which is much higher than the challenger elo average(if you look at stats in client). Most of my ward stats for every role that I have played, I have received higher scores than the average challenger elo.

I am not going to break every single detail down since that would be a whole lot to explain because every game can be different. I will however go over the spots that I usually cover almost every single game

Here is some Proof

The support vision is on a different account to show that i can obtain the challenger score, my average for the velkuz bot account wasnt that good as I trolled alot playing support on smurf xd
Top Lane Guide
Top Lane Phase 1 - Starting
The Yellow spots indicate where you should be placing yellow trinkets while starting, These are generally good spots to spot out your enemy, along with the one on your side in the jungle, that one is there to help you get vision on enemy jungle invading and you can go and kill him with your jungler

Red spots are usually crucial and you want to be 1) getting vision control by denying vision, or 2) helping your jungle make a successful gank by waiting for the jungler to come and placing your control ward so he can be unseen as hes coming

Top Lane Phase 2 - Attacking

Generally ward these areas if you are just focusing to push even further and continue attacking the enemy, Yellow being trinket focus and Red being Control ward Focus

Top Lane Phase 3 - Defending

Obviously you do not want to really make it to reading this part of the guide but sometimes you just get out played (am I rieeeght) "Hey it's ok to have a bad game it happens", lets just make sure you will not make the game even worse for your team by giving them excellent wards!

Yellow for trinket focus and Red for control ward focus, you'll find the yellows to not be in bushes. hmm why is that. Well you see, its more about getting vision of a path rather than "hiding it in a bush". Yellow trinkets are already hidden to the enemy, YOU DO NOT NEED TO HIDE THEM IN BUSHES. Always chose to ward the spot that gives you vision on the most paths possible for any champion, You should also be considering dashes and jumps as well.
Mid Lane Guide
Mid Lane Phase 1 - Starting
If you have not read the top lane guide, Yellow is trinket focus and Red is Control Focus

The Control ward spot is actually one of the best spots I have found to use every game. It is insanely powerful because most enemy's will NOT walk through that bush. You'll be surprised to see it up still when it has reached like 25 mins in the game.

For the trinket spots here, these are preferably better because it provides better vision coverage and escape time.

Mid Lane Phase 2 - Attacking

These spots here you want to consider warding when attacking (obviously keeping ctrl ward in same spot)

The wards except the one in the middle of lane help, both your side lanes with information, and can help you jungler invade the enemy. With keeping vision in the mid lane still in case your enemy decides to push, this ward will help you find where hes pathing too, or perhaps trying to be sneaky(if hes playing twitch it doesn't count)

Mid Lane Phase 3 - Defending

Ward these spots here when trying to defend and you have lost your tower, obviously situational to the Control ward spot depending if the enemy has taken it out from the Starting point first, if so than use the control ward for defense. Possibly even consider buying an extra control ward to deny vision when trying to move to objective with your team
Bot Lane Guide
Bot Lane Phase 1 - Starting
Ah the role everyone hates the most, Bot Lane(always ban pyke)

Wow whats this a new colour? I wonder what those wards are! ( nope those are just scanning areas)

Basically pretty simple here dish out wards when you can, preferably dump trinkets deeper into the river almost reaching the dragon pit that way you can have more escape time when seeing a gank coming(unless the enemy has a thresh lantern), Help your own lane first before you help mid lane preferably(unless you see your mid lane is getting camped), And focus on using your control ward on the pixel bush(the bush that kinda just sits alone in the river). Last but not least, save a control to help your jungler make a sucessful gank!

Bot Lane Phase 2 - Attacking

Nothing really much different here except now your focus is to bully the enemy jungler by lighting up his jungle with wards, and also trying to pressure mid lane if it has not fallen yet

Bot Lane Phase 3 - Defending

Bot lane why u feeding, stop inting, (why is it always my bot lanes!)

As much as having a losing bot lane sucks, you do not want to be the losing bot lane you hate to have, so lets get to it!

Keep your control ward on pixel if it has not been destroyed. Drop trinkets in lane if the enemy is not trying to heavily push you, this could be used for spotting pathing, and potential suprises(5 man bot lane in the bush!)

Definitely want to get vision on that dragon since the pressure is not really there to contest it as heavily anymore, and ward paths in your own jungle along with scanning.

Also use the control wards when you are moving to the objective as a team, you do not want to be placing them and just walking away letting enemy take gold for free! unless you are using it to clear wards out then maybe....
Jungle
Jungling
Typically, a good jungle should not be using wards, but instead a scanner, because it will be much harder to make successful ganks with out using a scanner(maybe you are playing lee sin, probably an exception)

Basically just focus your wards on pixel bushes and objects, and scanning open paths.

Everyone - Attacking
WOW so many colours! (yes I am canadian btw)

Pretty much following the same as the other guides except the blue spots are for situational spots only( you need it to auto attack the enemy in the bush because you are ranged etc )

Pink spots for placing a control ward to help make a gank against the enemy( doesnt have to be a gank from the jungler )

Everyone - Defending

Same idea as attacking, Try to get Yellow spots in if you can, otherwise use the blue spots that are further back, Try and use control wards to deny vision. Also dropping wards in lanes are very helpful, especially mid lane.
