Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Lets start it of with this...URGOT IS NOT A TANK. Urgot is a DPS/Chaser. Thank You.
Zaun-Touched Bolt Augmenter-
Anyone you hit with your fetid attacks shall receive reduced damage by 15% for 3 sec. Hitting people with this in laning while they try to last hit creeps can make them fail to deal the finishing blow, impacting their farming. It also works well for when they dare try to assault you, as you will quickly outdamage them and send them crying back to their turret.
Use it to farm, kite, and kill. Love it, learn it, stab them in your enemy's eyes. It is your free second autoattack with bonus damage. AT lvl 5, it deals 150 physical damage, with a 1:1 AD ratio. It has about the range of Mundo's cleaver, but note it does not have a skillshot line, so you will have to learn the distance manually. Acid Hunter's mana cost is very low to account for the spamability. This will give you lane control and will be the majority of your damage output all game. Acid Hunter is part of your 1-2 combo with Noxian Corrosive Charge. With your target painted by NCC, it gets nearly unlimited auto-targeting range, "nearly" unlimited. Rule of thumb, if you can see them, you can shoot them. (However, you CAN shoot people hidden by the fog of war or invis as long as they are affected with NCC.) It can also destroy invisible wards, without oracles! If you fire one randomly in a bush, and hear the sound as if it hit something, fire a few more at the same spot until it stops. IT DOES NOT APPLY ON HIT EFFECTS, just your passive. When someone is hit with Noxian Corrosive Charge, make sure to keep your cursor on top of them at all times, and keep them highlighted. Just dont jam and break the Q button, you might regret it...unless you get that kill then it was worth it X3.
In short- Long Range Skillshot damage, has lock on ability with extra range.
It basically functions like Janna's shield, and it grants a free slow for your attacks and rockets for 7 seconds instead of damage. You should pop this anytime you hit someone with Noxian Corrosive Charge, and follow up with a barrage of Acid Hunters. You can then chase them down, and most likely land a killing blow. If you're attacking or running away, there is never a wrong time for a quick shield. The shield only goes up to a measly 240 damage cap, which late game will get popped in a second. It is good for some extra protection and slow early game though. Pop this before ulting to prepare yourself for any incoming damage, and to slow down your target even more.
In short- Shield/Slow
Noxian Corrosive Charge-
It is a DOT skillshot nuke of 320 magic damage at lvl 5 with AOE, and it reduces enemy armor by 10/15/20/25/30. With the debuff on an opponent, you can place your cursor over the target, hit Q, and your rockets automatically seek out and damage your target, regardless of whats in between. With Acid Hunter cooldowns, this allows for 2-3 lock on Acid Hunters during the duration. Learn to land it and lead your opponents movements. Landing this in the center of teamfights can give your carries the edge with the extra armor pen.
IT ALSO CHECKS BUSHES! Use this on the side bushes while in lane to prevent ganks. I cannot count how many Urgots I've seen not use this to check brushes.
In short -AoE/DoT/Nuke/Armor Deduction/Map Reveal
Hyper-Kinetic Position Reverser-
With this, you will swap places with your selected target. While you gain a armor buff to reduce damage, they receive a slow and the tender loving care of your team. For quick reference, it is best used to catch runners from teamfights and trap them in the center again, or save an ally who is being chased. Using this ulti to tank is a very, very bad idea. Don't act like a tank. If someone tries to tower dive you and run away, ult them back into tower range and earn your free kill.
(Note, when you swap, your camera will be swapped right on top of you. It is good to learn this, because it will be hard to get use to for the first few swaps.)
In short- Forced Movement/Slow/Armor Buff
Reasons Why I Max Out NCC Over AH-
I prefer the dot and the negative armor because its damage for sure and still makes your Q skill hurt.
Why 2 rings? Cheap HP, AP, and Mana Regain. Enough Said.
Why Phage/Frozen Mallet? Late game your shield wont hold much for a slow, and this gives you Health, Damage, and a Slow. Enough Said.
Why The Black Cleaver? Lowers targets armor = more Damage from your auto attacks and Q skill. Plus works wonders with your E skill. Enough Said.
Why only a Vampiric Scepter? You can upgrade it to what ever version you want, I prefer The Bloodthirster or Stark's Ferver.
You can also sell the rings for other items, like Banshee's Veil, Guardian Angel or Frozen Heart for defensive purposes.
How To Lane With Him-
Hes a great solo mid, just play defensive, hit your lane shadow with your E skill, and fire rockets. You might get a kill or two. When your lane is pushed towards the enemys tower, back off and kill Phantoms with your E and Q combo in your jungle if your team has no jungler. You may also attempt a gank at lvl 6 during this time.
Hes also a good lane partner, especially with those physical DPS types. Just play the same as above, Defensive.
Mid and late game, you are to sit in the back, laughing your *** off as your rocket(right hand?) flys all over the place hitting the enemy champs. You can also fit the roll of in initiator, with your ult, but try not to die.
