Hello! this is my first build so be patient with me. Ive played vlad for a bit, experimenting here and there, reading about others comments, how he "should" be played and so on....so i took some of their info and did a little messing around of my own, and bam! a build that ive found to work very well for me. I am by no means telling you "ZOMG UR A N00B IF U DONT USE MY BUILD" by any means. this is meant to be something to help people craft their own builds that work well for the idevidual. Now, On to the details!
Transfusion: Vladimir drains the lifeforce of his target, dealing magic damage and healing himself for 25% of that amount.
This ability is your bread and butter doods, excellent harassment method, offers a decent heal, and when maxed out, about a 2.5 recharge time! suberb for spamming to get health back up or being a nuicence and harassing like crazy. this is your main ability that makes vlad, vlad.
Sanguine Pool: Vladimir sinks into a pool of blood for 2.5 seconds, becoming untargetable and slowing enemies above him. Vladmir deals magic damage to targets above him and heals himself for 15% of that amount.
Many a player have deemed this 'ZOMG TOO OP', but i disagree. its only 2.5 second duration and once you come out, thats basically the only thing keeping you from being beaten into a pulp, so use it wisely. dont use it to take out a creep wave when you think an ambush could be near, it could very well save your life.
Tides of Blood: Vladimir unleashes a torrent of blood, damaging surrounding enemies. Additionally, multiple Tides of Blood in a short period of time cause them to cost additional health and deal additional damage, and increases his healing and regeneration by 8%.
excellent farming method in combination with transfusion and even more tides considering the increased damage and regen. if you get this baby up to 2 or 3 stacks before going into a fight you can get some serious damage output.
(Ultimate) Hemoplague: Vladimir infects the target area with a virulent plague that increases the damage they take for 5 seconds. After 5 seconds, infected enemies take magic damage.
one of the most important things to remember about this ability is NEVER use this at the beginning of a fight unless you area absolutely certain you will rape the enemies face with the help of the damage amp. unless youre certain, i prefer it at the end with they think they can get away, but the count down and the nice bit of damage cleans up nicely.
(Passive) Crimson Pact: Bonus health gives Vladimir bonus ability power, and every bonus ability power gives Vladimir bonus health (does not stack with itself).
this passive....OM NOM NOM. sweet combo for sure, the the conversion ratio is very nice in my opinion. quite usefull for the extra bit of health to help you get away just in time.
i like a ruby crystal first for the added health, and that its a component of haunting guise which youll get later. i tried dorans shield...meh. didnt really go for it. if you want to, try it out, but i like this. up next you want boots as fast as you can. as usual, get boots depending on the situation, but with everything you get from FoN, usually i can safely go sorcerers shoes. now, FoN is your bread and butter. SWEET hp regen ( aweosme with tides), ****load of magic resist to piss off enemy casters, and a passive that works amazingly on vlad. i tried spirit visage in place of it, didnt really work for me, but hey, thats just my opinion. now, rylais is sweet for chasing down runners plus with your passive, you get even more goodies out of it. i thnk Zhonyas speaks for itself. personally, usually i barely get this item before the game ends, so when i have, trust me, you turn uber beastly.
standard 9/0/21. goodies in ulitiy that arent mana related of course, other than that, experiment if you wish. this is only what i prefer, you may find something else that suits your playstyle better, so please mix things up a bit.
i choose flash and ignite for the simeple reasons of 1. flash is universally useful and since vlad doesnt really have that great of an escape mechanism, it works wonders for me. as for ignite, the extra damage can really help early on, or finishing off someone who just casted ghost and is bolting away. ghost can also be viable, but i prefer flash. if youre fairly new with vlad, exchange ignite with a heal, or if you want, ghost and flash can work for the added bit of escape mechanisms which can have its uses.
Early on, harrass like the wind! its what vlad excells at and if you go mid, you should be dominating in no time or if youre laning with a partner, you can definatly push HARD. you might even rack up a kill or two. the range on transfusion makes it key for slowing brings down enemy health so you can swoop in for the kill. usually by the time i have my FoN, haunting guise, sorcs and rylais, i can usually hit for almost a quarter of their hp of an enemy caster.
mid is where you can put even harder and take down them champs in the process, with the occasional help from a teammate of course! team combat is what vlad excells at, so spam like the wind! saguine pool is very usefull if you and a homie are running after someone. just slow them down while your buddy beats them down, then when you come up, tides+ transfusion combo for the kill!
late game, really youll just be all beastly if your team is doing well. and if it isn't, you still have a fair amount of fire power with all that magic pen and AP. just gangrape the enemy with your teammates, and everything is tea and biscuits. vlad at endgame still remains an ecellent pusher with his ammounts of health, and his amount of damage cuts through minion waves like a paladin through a mage ( WoW player here ).
ill probably update this guide more later on with tweaks and whatnot, but so far, this is the best method for me. please comment, i want to know what i did right, but mostly, what i did wrong, so i can learn from my mistakes and make a better, more accurate guide. Oh and by the way, if you see any spelling errors and whatnot, im dyslexic, so be patient with me XD. good luck, and may the force be with you!
