Introduction

Welcome to my first guide here on MOBAfire!

My League name is GaBeZzZz and i'll be explaining how I play The Monkey King himself; Wukong!

*Please note that the posted +staple+ build is my average build, but considering on the opponents team comp. and my teams comp. it will vary on the items I buy, my playstyle and how I level my skills*

Summary

The Monkey King is a Tanky-DPS champ, with some burst-like properties.
He excels at early game Harassment, Off-Tanking, Team Disrupting, and being an Anti-Carry.
The Monkey King, Wukong; is moderately Item Dependent, being such that basic Farming, Last Hitting and Zoning skills are not generally required to do well, but as always it never hurts to have a gold advantage over your opponent. My build on the Wukong is built around survivability, damage output,anti-carry assassination; and adding some extra CC (Frozen Mallet, Randuin's, Etc) to help focus/chase down the opponents carries.

Story

In the Plague Jungles, Kong ruled as king. He could wield a unique, natural form of magic and he was driven by zealous ambition. The Plague Jungles were the ideal setting for fostering his growth - he thrived on challenges and flourished in adversity. However, when he had surmounted every obstacle and defeated every opponent, he grew restless. Worried that there was nothing left to overcome, he sought counsel with the monkey sage who lived behind the Grand Waterfall. The sage told him a tale of hairless monkeys to the north who, with wits and strength, bent the world to their will. Kong was overjoyed at the prospect of such worthy competition, and he immediately set out to the north, hoping that the sage's story was true.

Traveling north, he crossed the Southern Wastes and then the Great Barrier. Unaware of the League, he arrived outside the Institute of War where he found Master Yi in meditation. Kong was eager to test the strength of these northern warriors, so he challenged Yi to a duel. Intrigued by Kong, Yi decided to humor him. Within moments of his first strike, Kong knew he was no match for Yi. To be the best, he would need a mentor. He asked Yi to take him as a pupil and to show him the wonders of the northern lands. In return, he would honor Yi by becoming the greatest warrior Runeterra had ever seen. Admiring his passion, Yi agreed, but only under the condition that Kong would one day teach the lessons of Wuju to a pupil of his own. In the spirit of this agreement, he renamed Kong ''Wukong'', and gave him a weapon suited to his unusual nature - an enchanted staff that the young Doran had crafted. The weapon was an unrivalled masterpiece. After rigorous training, Wukong joined the League of Legends to fulfill his promise and show the world the true power of Wuju.

''The first step to wisdom and greatness is realizing how little you know.''
- The first lesson of Master Yi

Runes

I use Amor Pen Marks, Armor Seals, MR Glyphs, and Flat HP Quints.

I love the Durability I get from this rune setup, especially early game.

Skill Sequence

I max Q first, jump on your target with your E, hit them with an Auto Attack, hit them with Q, then W out of harms way before they counter harass you.

After you get your Sheen, you'll see just how much burst damage Wukong is capable of.

Your ulti is OK for initiating team fight... but if they CC you it won't be a good thing! I tend to save my ult until the enemy team has blown some of their main sources of CC then wreck faces as there's nothing they can do to stop my Spin2WIn!

Items

Like I said, items you get should depend on your teams comp. and your enemies team comp. If the enemy team is AP heavy (Annie, Malz, Cass, Brand, etc) Then don't stack armor! If the enemy team is AD heavy (Ashe, Corki, Xin, Olaf, etc) Then don't stack MR! ;)

Sometimes if i'm getting focused, I'll ditch one of my items for another situation Tank item (Warmogs, GA, FoN, Thornmail, Randuins, etc)

End

Well, I hope my first posted guide here on MOBAfire wasn't a complete failure! Please give it a try before you downvote or post nasty things about it! Thanks for reading!
