I'd recommend maxing your Q-skill faster though. Like you said, it can be used to last-hit minions, and using your E-skill early-game is a real mana-drain (and it can't clear minion waves clearly until it's leveled up anyway). E-skill is a good pop-up deterent for melee champions because they don't know how powerful it is, plus if you pop a W and walk through it they won't want to give chase while E is turned on, regardless of how much damage it actually does.
So I'd say charge up your Tear of the Goddess with Q, and get Q to lvl 5 ASAP, then work on E (get one lvl of each to begin, though, of course)
also, quintessences for CDR? waste....
