Horrible build, you change magic pen for movement speed, and lose a item for Haunting Guise that gives low hp, low ap and compesate the magic pen. Kennen is fast by himself, and he loses a quinstessence for a swiftness one.
I think kennen should focus on damage than in movement, he have a nice aproach with his e and flash.

hey i thought this was a great build but the only time that i have ever played kennen i tried to follow this and got stomped on due to a lack of team work but it would have worked

I'm afraid as I'm new to this site, I don't know how to edit in those snazzy images that show the weapon/ability stats when you over over them. If you'd teach me, I'd be sure to make it less wall-of-text.

I love the build and love the guide. Especially the part about spell combos (I have something similar in my Swain guide). Though one thing I suggest is that you add some pictures in there, the wall of text format is a bit tedious to read. But all in all, very good. +1

The reason I like haunting guise over Rylai's scepter is the cost. Lets compare damage.
A level 1 W, with haunting guise, will do 65 flat damage, + 12.5 damage from ability power. The 77.5 damage will be reduced to 63.5 damage by most opening champions.
A level 1 W, with crystal scepter, will also to 65 flat damage, + 40 damage from ability power. The 105 damage will be reduced by 40% on most champions, causing it to deal 65 damage.
For twice as much gold, you've bought 300 more health than you should need early, a 15% slow, which is pointless because of your stuns, and barely any extra damage. Not worth it early.

Late in the game, it's really an open slot. Build what you like! I personally don't like Megai's, but if you do, that's what will replace the scepter.

I don't recommend energy runes because Kennen already has enough energy. Play him and you'll see. There's only on time you'll actually need more energy than you have, and it will be using lightning rush as an escape. Wait maybe a second, and you'll have it back. Meanwhile, the extra health, cooldowns, and penetration will make your attacks deadlier, and keep you alive while you pull it off.

Why late rylai's crystal scepter?
There are some energy and energy regen runes don't you recommend any of them?
