focused easily if you don't have zhonyas
not as bursty as other casters

Masteries
I prefer going 21/9 since he doesn't really need blue buff because he has energy

21/0/9 (get the extra mana in it because it actually gives extra energy
the reason why i get brute force in the offense instead of mental force is that you can last hitt more easily and also that extra 4 ap doesnt really hel u that much.
Runes
On any caster you should be getting magic pen reds and flat ap quints
with the hp per level seals, those are better if you are going mid but if you are solo top vsing an AD bruiser you should swap it with flat armor.
the glyphs can be offensive or defensive you can get ap/per level or either flat magic resist

dorans shield is good but then if you get harassed hard you don't have pots to back up you're hp. also boots allow you to escape from ganks and skill shots more easily. those hp pts help you with staying in your'e lane a bit longer.

when you are level 6 and you have pushed you're lane away to the enemy's turret. Get you're jungler to follow you going either top lane or bot lane. you should be always ganking in mid/ early game when you have you're Ultimate so you're lanes win and you will prssure the enemy team. you cangank a different lane without you're jungler but you will and a better chance to kill a lane with your jungler. also when you are mid with the availability of you're ultimate, you're not going to use it as often as ganking lanes, so its better off with using it more often
