Introduction

For many people, Kog'Maw is a decent champion with OK moves and is OK on the battlefield. Others say he blows and should be removed from the game. But for people like me, Kog'Maw is one of the most amazing attack damage characters in the game. This is a guide for anyone curious about how to play Kog' Maw, not for haters, so no **** comments, just intelligent criticism on what is good and what is not so good. Also for any who doubt his skills, I have no pictures, but I can promise to you that I got a pentakill with him.

Pros/Cons

Pros:
LONG range
Hits hard and fast
Has a surprising passive, especially against noobs
Has a funny /j, /t, and /d

Cons:
Can be squishy
Most of the time has mana problems
Is aimed at in team fight as the carry, especially if the other team is mad at him for raping

Runes

Let's start with runes. I believe that attack speed is what makes Kog'Maw, Kog'Maw. He is the speed king, so the marks are based around attack speed. As for the seals, I always go with dodge on any champion because the ability to dodge could be the matter of life and death. I have dodged things before and that saved my life, so I was able to recover and return with a vengeance. Glyphs are to counter his awful mana issues, now these are interchangeable so if u don't want extra mana, well that's on you. The quints are to give Kog'Maw that extra push he needs to be epic, who doesn't love more damage anyway?

Masteries

Not Much to say here, I like to go damage with him so he is able to beast the entire team. Whether it be start, mid, or late game. Oh and for the bonus defense points, I think hes squishy so he needs it, you are free to change those up if you like, but I wouldn't due to, again, his squishy ***. Also anytime you use ghost you must have the point in mastery, that extra buff helps, you don't want to be caught now do you?

Items

The item sequence is extremely long, I know. That is the exact order I get **** in. Plus or minus the pots and elixirs I get too. Feel free to bypass the lower stuff if you have enough gold to buy the item above it. Example is, why buy the long sword and cloth armor if you have enough to buy the madred's razors? You catch my drift? Anyway don't forget to add pots and elixirs into the equation, cause you never know when a ****ing Eveylnn will pop out of the bush to gank you, so be prepared.

Skill Sequence

Speed is the name of the game, and caustic spittle is just that. Along with his bio-arcane barrage, to increase range. I don't focus on void ooze as much cause I don't think its as important, don't get me wrong, it is important, just not as much as his speed boosting move. Last but not least, USE his ulti, a lot... That thing rips through tower huggers like a knife through butter.

Summoner Spells

I chose these two, not only for the fact that they are the two most picked spells, but because they are the most helpful for squishy powerhouses to either run away, or catch low hp enemies. I recommend using both at the same time unless both aren't needed. What I'm trying to say is that save both till you critically need them, don't waste one to get an extra poke or to run to a tower. Use them to get good kills or save your almost dead ***.

Laning and Farming

I would recommend taking mid with Kog' Maw anytime you play, especially with this guide. This allows for a great farm that you can keep all to yourself. Keep laning and farming until about level 11 or 12, or until the enemy team decides to start the gank fest early. While laning USE your ulti to keep them at bay, especially if they be huggin' dat tower. I would say stick to bushes myself, because everyone hates a bush hugger and you can hit basically anything with his ulti at max level. Since his void ooze does good damage, it can be thrown at a line of minions and then your speed will finish the job. This will make an epic farm. My farm is generally 200 to 250 minion kills. Believe me, farming is more important than kills, so aim for minions.

Playing styles

The nice thing about this build and Kog'Maw is that he is playable in many different ways. he can be ap, which makes his ult a 1 hit KO sometimes; ad, which makes hit a auto attack powerhouse; or attack speed, which makes hit a machine gun of unstoppable force. This guide focuses on a hybrid of attack speed and power, and less ap. But that doesn't mean ap is bad, just my style. With this guide I would recommend playing defensively when alone or soloing to avoid being overwhelmed, due to the lack of armor or magic resist in the build, but going full power when in a group. This is because in a team fight Kog'Maw is back far enough to demolish the melee and your tank can keep them away from you and the ranged. If you are caught up close, u are usually dead, but that's what makes his ulti so great, if you are killed up close you have a chance at a kill, or at least do some massive damage.

Further useful tips

Moves:
Caustic Spittle- Max it out asap to get its full speed buffing potential
Bio-Arcane Barrage- Best combo when chasing far ranged enemies, Barrage/Ghost
Void Ooze- For the love of god, aim this in front of them, not on them, then you miss
Living Artillery- USE IT!!! Rape those ***** *** tower huggers all day, and hit a bush with it if you think someone is in it
Passive- Aim for the lowest hp enemy, if not, it can be a good last second farming tool

Interesting Facts

For any of those who care about facts or trivia stuff, here is a few things.
-His joke or /j is the charge theme and he sticks out his massive mouth in the form of a cannon
-His dance looks oddly like the Cossack Dance (the Russian dance), but other sources say its a dedication to One Froggy Evening
-His skins include a Chinese Dragon, which honors the Chinese new year, a butterfly and caterpillar, which might have some connection to each other, and a sand worm.
-One of his taunts suggests he has a relative coming to runeterra, his Daddy...
-Has some connection to Malzahar and Cho'Gath
-Apparently always hungry, but never eats anything or anyone in game
-Has some similarities to a dog; he chases his tail, itches behind his ears, and walking like a four legged animal although he walks on his back legs, probably due to his tail which balances him. Oddly enough it makes him more like a dinosaur in that aspect.
