Bio

The mystics of Ionia delve into the deepest mysteries of Valoran, pioneering the most inner depths of spirituality. Their adepts are some of the most devout proponents of enlightenment and harmony...but as is always the case, there are those who follow a very different path. Born in a grassy clearing under a red moon, Udyr has always been compelled by the primal drive within him. His will was not untempered, simply undomesticated. As a boy, he toiled on his father's farm, but he felt a much deeper connection with the mustangs that would graze in the distant fields than with the townsfolk who would visit. Oftentimes he was dragged into the house at night with a swat and a scolding when his parents would find him sleeping beneath the stars.

On the day of his sixteenth birthday, Udyr bade his family farewell and struck a path to the east, determined to shed the trappings of ''civilized'' society. Freed of the shackles of cultural expectations, Udyr tapped into a well of inner ferocity he hadn't known before. His feral senses roiled to the surface and he let them overcome him. It was at this point in his life that Udyr truly lost his humanity. Poachers and travelers who entered his territory did so at terrible risk, and rarely managed to leave it.

A monk on a long journey passed through his woods one day, and Udyr decided to scare him, leaping from a nearby brush. The monk casually turned and redirected Udyr to one side. Udyr, enraged, tried time and time again to best him, but the monk was unassailable. When Udyr was exhausted, the monk wordlessly beckoned him to follow, and together they walked in silence to the Hirana Monastery. The monks there took him in, and taught him to harness and control his animalistic fury...most of the time.

Tips

Damage is applied to turtle shield post-mitigation. Therefore, buying defensive items can drastically increase your survivability.

Alright, now that i have THAT out of the way

Seriously, screw mobafire and their character limitation on builds. Its stupid. All the above was copy-pasted from LoL's website.

Lets get to the REAL parts of these builds, and make it short and sweet.

Runes

Red: Armor Pen
You can chose to go flat AD here, but i prefer the pen, because itll help a lot more late game when youve got that bonus.. 8 ad? and you need some more pen.

Yellow: Dodge
Udyr's passive, enough said.

Blues: mr/level
Udyr hates mages with a passion, and the dodge takes care of physical carries. So, you naturally need more MR.

Quints: hp/5
Yes, hp5. Turtlestance+hp5 in lane with a phil stone makes you immovable.

Masteries

0/8/22

yeaaaaah alright.... soooo lets explain this

I went more mr in the defensive tree, because dodge > armor. Then i threw the rest into dodge, and stopped there. Why not that one in nimbleness? Its not needed... you're udyr. Youre always fast.

Why not 21/0/9? Too squishy
Why not 0/21/9? Not enough CDR or regen. Plus you get your bonuses from flash/ghost
Why not a 14/0/16, or 0/14/16? Youd miss out on some of the perk's from this build. Trust me, take it and go with it.

Items

Start with a regrowth, it synergizes with your quints, and with turtlestance. Youll have no problem staying in lane.

Move to a phil stone, and your turtle stance will be straight ******ed. You wont ever need to leave lane unless you want to, or someone tries to gank.

Boots are always merc treads. This isnt negotiable. You want that CC mitigation

Heart of gold, because you want more gold/10

Finish your trinity force, and start to feel the damage output.

Next, you remember how i said udyr hates mages? Yeah Get your FoN next.

After this, youll want to fnish your Omen, and start to use it. With omen + trinity force + bear you cant move... you cant escape... even if you have flash :).

Spirit Visage.... yes. The CDR + Regen bonus + Healing Bonus makes your turtlestance buy you some serious time while waiting that 6 seconds to pop bear again to finish off a troublesome hero.

Then an Atmas ... juse because you need more damage :)

Results?

Well, you get a hero with 200+ mr/armor, and 200+ AD. You move stupid quick, and then you have a stun, with lots of procs from the trinity force. Once you set in on someone, they arent escaping. You are the definition of tanky dps. :)

Theory

You dont need bear stance as much, due to the ms from trinity, and the ms from FoN. Youll be plenty fast.

Turtle Stance first, because you can last longer in lane... and just annoy them :)

Tiger / Phoenix stance next, because those are your main stances.

Make sure to keep your turtlestance on standby. No need to spam it if youre at fullhp. Wait for an obv poke/harass and use it to sheild the damage.

go forth, and spread the bear hugs :)
