Choose Champion Build:

  • LoL Champion: Lee Sin
  • LoL Champion: Lee Sin

Introduction

Lee Sin the Blind Monk is one heck of a beast. I was considering whether to buy Lee Sin or Nocturne with my 6300 IP, and decided to go for the less-seen Monk. Hard to play at first, but with practice and dedication, you'll be a boss with him. This build teaches you how to jungle Lee Sin and Lane Lee Sin as well, but i'll be honest with you: laning is much better than jungling with this champion.

Runes

Greater Marks of Desolation: Pretty obvious for an AD champ like Lee Sin, helps chomp up champions in early game and gets you through the armour of the less squishy.

Greater Glyph of Warding: Helps both in jungling and laning, makes you more durable and slightly harder to kill.

Greater Seal of Resilience: Same as the above.

Greater Quintessence of Desolation: Same reason as the greater mark of desolation.

Summoner Spells

Flash: Since Sonic Wave hits minions as well as champions, it might be hard to get hit that preliminary strike on that low-health champ. Flash solves that problem. Also helps you get away from ganks and teamfights fairly efficiently.

Ghost: Ghost can be used as well instead of flash, since Safeguard and resonating strike are pretty similiar to 'Flash'. However, I just prefer flash since it's just more surprising and unexpected when you jump someone and when you flash away from enemies.

Ignite: Helped me get tons of kills, as your full damage combo often leaves enemies at one bar of health or less. Also really useful for 1v1 fights against champions with high attack speed and lifesteal, such as Tryndamere and Shaco, or champions with heals, like Vladimir and Soraka.

Smite: Pretty self-explanatory, pretty standard for jungling.

Lee Sin's Abilities

All of Lee Sin's abilites do Attack Damage, except for Safeguard (Ability power).

Sonic Wave/Resonating Strike:
Skill shot that does a large amount of damage in both early and late game, useful and can be spammed early game for harassment. Most important skill that Lee Sin has. If you are good with aiming sonic wave, you'll be able to chase well, harass well, and escape well. Wait.. Escape?? Yes. If you're getting chased by enemy champions in the jungle or in lane, you can sonic wave to a minion or jungle creep and just use resonating strike to hop through it.

Safeguard/Iron will: Safeguard helps shield champions or minions for a short while, but unless you randomly build AP Lee Sin, it doesn't shield too much, maybe only to reduce turret hit damage or to save someone from an ignite. However, safeguard is also similiar to a flash. If you are being chased by some enemy champions, you can easily just use safeguard and hop to a nearby minion or an ally that runs faster than you. Also great for early game harass. If your lane opponents are simply stronger than you, just sonic wave/resonating strike them, then safeguard back to a minion further back before they have a chance to respond. Iron will gives lifesteal and improves Lee Sin's combat prowess for a short while. Helps you stay in lane for a while longer, but I rarely use this ability unless im jungling or taking down a turret.

Tempest/Cripple: Also a very useful ability. Increase in damage as AD INCREASES, NOT AP!!! Tempest is the farming ability of Lee-Sin. At a high enough AD tempest will just one hit all the minions in lane. Reduces attack speed of enemies (except for Baron Nashor and towers) by half, and also REVEALS STEALTH UNITS!!! The bane of champions such as Akali and Shaco. For example, if Akali attempts to escape by shrouding herself, simply walk in the cloud and tempest then cripple. She will be revealed and soon after will feed. Cripple is essential in chasing: it slows enemies for quite a long time and allows allies to catch up. A very useful combo is to sonic wave the opponent, followed by a resonating strike, them tempest+cripple.

Dragon's Rage: My favourite ability, it just puts a smile on my face every time. With a brutalizer, it only has a 60 second cooldown. This is your high damage move, and your ks move as well (:P). It knocks enemy A back a short distance, and other enemies behind enemy A get knocked up in the air as well. Used to knock back enemies into your team (coupled with the other abilities) or knock chasers away so your allies can escape.

Flurry (Passive): NO ONE EVER REALISES HOW USEFUL THIS ABILITY IS!!! THIS IS ESSENTIAL FOR JUNGLING!!! ALSO HELPS TAKE DOWN TURRETS SO SO MUCH FASTER THAN NORMAL!!!!

Basically, after lee sin uses an ability, he has a chance to follow up with two quick strikes that return 15 energy each. So instead of punching some stupid tower slowly all day, just safeguard yourself, punch twice, then use iron will, punch twice, then use tempest, punch twice, cripple (if your tempest hit something), punch twice, sonic wave a random place (punch twice), repeat the cycle, punch twice, tower dead.

Items

Boots of Speed: Just so useful for chasing fleeing enemies or running away early game.

Health potions: Allow you to stay in-lane for longer, therefore gaining more money and experience before having to b.

Brutalizer: OMG so ******* useful. COSTS SOOOO LITTLEEE (1337 lol). Lowers your cooldowns and gives you armour penetration, meaning your falcon kick ultimate now has 60 second cooldown, and you just do much more damage to enemy champions.

Mercury's Treads: The most useful pair of boots I reckon. Gives you tenacity (reduces stuns, slows, etc.) and just gives you enough time to escape and/or chase someone. Also when you get jumped, reduces CCs and gives you some time to ulti their faces or flash away.

Bloodthirster/ Frozen Mallet: You can choose either of these to grab next. If you're just dominating in-lane and you don't have many deaths+ you have a good tank in your team, grab a bloodthirster, it will just get you so many more kills and it will help you stsy in lane longer and gives you a fighting chance against those annoying champs like Tryndamere.
Grab a frozen mallet if there are a lot of team fights were you die, or where your tank just isnt very good and you have to go into off-tank mode. I generally grab both these items, but in most cases grab a frozen mallet first just so that I can chase down champions better.

Atma's impaler: Gives you crit chance, armour, and with the frozen mallet gives you around 60 attack damage. Obviously if you grabbed the bloodthirster first, you go for the frozen mallet next.

Bloodthirster: I just grab another one since it gives you like 100 attack Damage (lee-sin gets creep score pretty fast) and a whole bunch of life steal. Once you have these 6 items you're pretty much unstoppable.

Youmuu's ghostblade: never actually gotten this before, since I normally win the game by this point. But would be useful seeing as this is just an upgraded brutalizer.

Creeping / Jungling

Well I'll say this now. Laning or soloing with Lee Sin is just tons better. But I will tell you that the only reason why lee sin can jungle is because of his passive, Flurry. To jungle perfectly, you fight creeps like this: use an ability, two hits (flurry), use an ability. If you time abilities well you will never have to wait for a cooldown.

Grab a safeguard first since Iron will gives you some life steal. Buy a vampiric sceptre first. Remember: Always start creep fights with safeguard first, as it has a shorter cooldown than tempest (only really matters first 3 levels)

1) Start off at wolves. Kill the big one first constantly using safeguard and iron will. You will take about two bars of damage from the wolves, but will regain about one bar from the smaller wolves.

2) Go to the wraiths, and smite the large one. level up Tempest next.

3) Go to the golems, START WITH SAFEGUARD/IRON WILL, kill them.

4) B, and buy cloth armour and two health pots.

5) Kill the blue buff golem, making sure to focus it down first before the smaller ones. If you use your abilities correctly you'll barely lose any health from this.

Max resonating strike starting from level 4 since you will start ganking and other than your ultimate, this ability does the most damage.
