Introduction
Start by popping eclipse when in range of a hostile champion with your zenith blade. Fire off zenith blade and immediately follow with shield of daybreak. If cripple is up toss that on and proceed to attack until SoD is back up. Solar flare can be used on fleeing enemies or a good way to get a ranged stun off from in cover of bushes. Though none of our skills do a whole lot of damage there low mana cost and short cooldowns let us use them fairly rapid fire.
We start off with a regrowth pendant and a health potion to give us some staying power in the lane. When we return for the first time we try to have stayed in the lane long enough to finish our p philosophizer's stone and pick up our boots of speed. Next trip back I like to finish ionian boots and pick up a ward or two. Next shield of aegis gives us extra armor and magic resist and will help carry us to our next purchase which can be dependent on the situation. If your able to farm well and last hit creeps I like to go with the glacial shroud for the additional armor if you need more damage to farm pick up the sunfire cape. After we have our cape and shroud building a force of nature makes you just that. Afterwards we finish our frozen heart and make a shurelyas reverie for more cdr and some extra speed.
At this point you are very very beefy and should be able to deal with AD champs as well as AP ones.

This is what Leona is all about. When your team is moving forward you should be at the head of the line if your retreating you should be last one out. Because we are so tanky we don't put out a whole lot of dps but being able to stay in fights and shut down champions on the enemy team makes us the anvil for the teams hammer. If a situation arises where your carry or squishy is about to die but you can sacrifice yourself to save them that part of the job as well. Makes yourself indispensable to the team and kills and assists will start rolling in.
So there you have it, my first guide I will be updating it as I continue to refine my build with Leona. A few things I want to stress before I go is that Leona is designed as a tank. While you may be able to build her to do some damage her poor rations and low base damage means if you want to do damage there are much better champion choices. Also before the start of matches make not of which champions your going up against and try to prioritize which enemies will be most vital to CC in team fights. Your ability to take a champion (or potentially the whole team) out of the fight consistently makes you a huge force multiplier.
Well that is all I have for now I hope this guide will be of some use and I can promise it will improve with some time. Let me know your thoughts and opinions. Happy hunting.
