This build is especially nice because it allows you to have the most survivability while also being able to deal a good amount of damage. Yes, It is true. All of her abilities scale off ability power but about 75% of the time you are white hitting. So the frozen mallet allows you to chase while the Atma's Impaler gives that edge of damage with the amount of health you have.

Now, This build does not give you Health regen at the start so you can purchase pots to cope for that. I use this build in ranked and it is a very effective build. Most tanks do not have the ability to deal decent damage and tank at the same time. With this build you can engage the fight and be able to contribute more than just the damage absorb.

When leading into a fight. Whether it is a team fight or a skirmish. You will activate your Eclipse and your Shield of Daybreak. You will launch yourself with Zenith Blade. She will auto attack the champion when you land your Zenith Blade. Once you land you can either keep attacking and beat each other's face off and save your Solar Flare for if they try to run or you can lead directly after the landing of Zenith Blade with your Solar Flare to offer the extra damage and the stun/slow. If leading into a team fight it is advisable to use your use your Solar Flare to offer the best chance for your team to get high damage output.

As Leona is a very difficult farm due to her range. Try to pick up as many assists as possible in early game. You can pick a kill or 2 up depending on if your laning with a support or a carry. If you are laning with a carry, try not to steal the kills. IF your laning with a carry, Try to obtain an equal amount of kills because with both of you having the ability to survive in almost any circumstance. It allows your carry to keep up with you and not fall behind and unable to keep you alive. The point in the talent tree Greed is to help with this lack of farm capability. It is also incase you have a jungle and you are the one soloing top lane. She is a very strong solo lane. Do not let people intimidate you. Use your tower if you must but be aggressive back. Do not over extend or over push when they push or back. It is a very unwise choice to make if you do not have a partner to fall back to.

This is my recommendations for Leona as a True Tank. I play her in Ranked matches and have an 1800 rating in both premade 5's and premade 3's.
