New to the reply thing so don't know how to show that I voted +1.

I picked up Morg because I main support and wanted to pick up a bunch of supports that also work mid, and with this guide I've had quite the success.

I like the depth of the explanations for the various build paths, because it means I can more easily adjust what I build to the situation.

I think you meant Arcane Blade rather than Arcane Mastery in the Masteries section :p

Very nice guide, probably the best that I have seen designed for Morgana and is where I look whenever I'm wondering about one certain item or another. I do have a question though: Would Deathfire Grasp be a viable replacement for the Void Staff in an average game? The build used is highly dependent upon the game it is used in, of course, but whenever I have the freedom to build simply what I think will do the most damage due to lack of pressure from the enemy team, I generally build Athene's>Zhonya's>Sorcerer's>Liandry's>Rabadon's>Deathfire Grasp. Thoughts?

Hey I must say, this is a beautiful guide in both design and information. Morgana is my main now and this guide definitely helped her get to be my go to champ. I have nothing but positive things to say about this, remarkable job!! And thank you!

Vyn: Thanks for the suggestion. I tend to run Teleport on Morgana if the enemy mid is very mobile; it is listed in the guide as an alternative. I'll have to play test it a bit before recommending it in the guide over Ignite ^^ Will also mention Distortion upgrade - I don't think I've mentioned it :/

False: Hmm. I never really considered Barrier on Morgana due to her Spell Shield, but I guess if you're against heavy AD mid, it could be a good choice?

I was running Barrier on Morg mid (flash + ult engages without having to pop zhonya too early, or for ulting pre-zhonya in riskier situations), but the TP suggestion sounds really good

Jhoi, just a few small suggestions which caught my eye since I've been playing some morgana lately as well. They aren't anything major but could improve your guide anyway :)

I've been playing around with running teleport on morgana and it is amazing. TP bot as a (counter-)gank and get easy doublekills which can snowball your early game easily. It often is a lot more valuable than ignite. I'd also recommend distortion boots and Summoner's Insight masteries for very little cooldown on flash+tp (which can both be essential on morgana).

The item build wasn't too far off from what I guessed at. The mastery and rune lists were a big help, though.

I suggest replacing the red potions with blues. Since you'll be farming with Tormented soil most of the time.

Maybe place your 4 build examples in the top of the guide instead of somewhere in the middle of the guide (maybe in different sheeds, at least Support in a different sheed in the top so it's easy to switch to): BALANCED MORGANA, AGAINST HEAVY AD, AGAINST HEAVY AP and SUPPORT MORGANA.

Seems like a pretty solid build. I usually use Morgana as a bot lane champ though since DB sets up easy kills for your adc(especially if an enemy champ gets trapped in front of minions at a low level), and black shield can be a life saver down there. With her skill-shot based, unreliable damage, I'd rather leave mid to another apc and help the adc slaughter bottom lane. I personally favor the mercury treads over the sorcerer's shoes; since when combined with Zhonya's, you have more than 100 in both defenses, tenacity, and black shield to cover you; Liandry's Torment and the Void Staff can make up for the lost magic pen if necessary.

Also, I disagree with Morgana being countered by AD champs like Talon. While their damage can be really high, they can't break Black Shield, so no CC for them until it times out unless they surprise you. Cannot tell you how many CC skills have been wasted on me like this. Can just pin them and run in most cases. Casting BS on the adc in bot lane can let them attack without fear of CC, or escape safely from whatever you're escaping from. I've found that apc Morgana + adc in bot lane make for a superb combo that dominates the lane if you can both do your job correctly.

I don't usually bother with support items at all on Morgana either. Usually DB and Black Shield is enough to save people early on, and later. When it's not(usually when being chased by a few enemy champs), Soul Shackles + Zhonya's is enough to deter them, and get them slaughtered more often than not.

I'd also like to take a moment to say, man, if they get DB'd in Tormented Soil when you have Liandry's Torment, they get eaten alive. When combined with Rylai's, Tormented Soil becomes a soft-CC death pit with the 15% AoE slow, DB gets a nice damage boost, and your Ult becomes that much more threatening with its slow, stun, and burn from each hit. The synergy with these two is AMAZING for Morgana's damage.

"That's some nice health you got there, would be a shame if.. something happened to it." -Morgana w/ Liandry's Torment and Rylai's Crystal Scepter
