I use this normally when i play malzahar. You first might question the ability choices. I don't start out with my call of the void for the voidling because with the flat ability power glyphs and quints it gives the malefic visions more power and an easy way to clear all the minion waves because of how it jumps and restores mana. I take 1 point in everything by level 6 because using the lv 3 visions as well as null zone with the ultimate gives over 450 damage and the 4% of their health too. Later on into the game at lv 11 your ultimate and visions with the null zone can easily nuke champs right down because of the magic penetration and this makes it hard to be ganked because malzahar's ultimate will render them useless. By lv 11 you should have at least a deathcap and a giants belt for the rylais, so it is very easy to go in teamfights. Lock down the champ that will do the most damage(with your ultimate combo)and teamfights should get easier. By lv 18 a complete deathcap, shoes and rylais you should be unstoppable. You probably wont get the tome, void staff or the WotA because they will have surrendered ;)
