Oh, no, the item's great! But the thing is, not in every game you will want to build CC reduction on Malz and sometimes when their team has little to no CC, it's just useless.
So listing it as a "Situational Item" would probably be the best ;)
And I definitely see your CoTV vs. Null Zone view point now.
Reasonable enough, so I'll give it a try :)
About Null Zone and CoTV, yes COTV kind-of ranks up faster but I dont really use it for damage until later when the teamfights have everyone in one place. Early game its for minions and glancing blows and the silence (sure it does do damage but ...) but I like getting Null Zone because it increases my 1v1 power. Maybe in a ranked or organized game i'd prefer coTV but Null Zone is almost a single target spell with your combo in that when you do your combo it's a "Garunteed hit" (or you failed your combo) and I can definatly see the difference in rank when melting tanks down. I should mention that sometimes I straight up go for the tank and put him out of commission and usually kill him so deathfire grasp is very viable if you decide to be anti tank
I do not play him much, however when I do, it's usually a lot of farm.
But this was very very intense reading that actually helps to figure out Malza's weaknesses as well ;) All due to the fact that you've put a lot of champion knowledge into the guide.
There are, however, some points with which I kind of disagree (I'm not a great Malz player, so take these mildly).
1)
2) You kind of mentioned it, but I didn't really understand if you do it or not + your main build is a little different.
Wouldn't you want to level out
3) One of the best things that Malza can do in game is to zone out his opponent with CotV and Null Zone. Include a section about it... If you play him a lot, I think you know exactly what I'm trying to say =P I'd love to see a more or less "pro" advice on zoning with
4) Format your "How to win middle" and "Items" chapters with some colours. These contain a ton of great info, but it's very hard to read that wall of text, really.
I hope you'll get that prettier soon :)
I sincerely hope that my noob-
Oh yea... +1 from me ;)
I didn't downvote...
I upvoted.

And hey, why are you such a hater? MLP is an amazing show. Why don't you at least try and justify how it could be.
Also I didn't say not Rylai's at all, just said later...
However I don't consider
a) Moonflair Spellblade viable on Malz
b) No voidstaff
c) No Zhonya's (your ult also supresses you)
d) A deathcap that late (don't get me wrong Rylai's is great, but I don't think it should be the first item on him)
Your build needs work.
I suggest you try the items from Wrath's guide for a bit, I would use it over this just because of the items.
Otherwise this is probably the best guide on Malzahar that i've seen. The amount of information is just massive, and it's all valuable to play Malzahar. I know a lot more about him now then I did before.
However it would help your guide a LOT by putting images in. Anywhere you see an ability name that can be coded, put square brackets around it.
As soon as you change the items i'll give you a Scout point. The images aren't necessary but would help your guide a LOT.
Anyways +1
I'm not sure I can change the items to be honest because I don't entirely agree. Abyssal Scepter is a great item and could be added to the viable items section I did most of the items offline and without a database to scan over but the truth is I never get much farther then Rabadons and when I do i'm finishing off my Archangel's Staff, grabbing wards and elixers and then probably Banshees Veil or Moonflare Spell Blade for CC reduction. If you're suffering from magic resistance there are situations where both Abyssal and Void are going to work much like described by Wrath in his guide (I just breifly looked over the items section) but i'm fairly steady in the beginning with Rylai's and Deathcap and you can suck my **** if you don't want to vote for me because of it. :) Not personal at all just pointing out i'm not willing to budge. I'll add Abyssal as an option when faced with MR in the viable items section but I mostly just considered the interesting ones while I was writing it.
Just please.. change the build and masteries ._. I do not play Malz but even I can see that isn't viable. Sadly you had the troll vote, so re-uploading this when done would be a good idea then text everyone who voted about voting again.
