you can control him by using your e, dumbie

Using your E requires having a target. If your voidling is alive and lets say you're hiding in a bush, waiting for a gank, frequenly your voidling will not follow you in all the way, and will instead wait out side, giving away your position, you can put an E on someone, but then of course... there goes the surprise.

it's part of Archangel's staff, which is far from useless on Malzahar. Since all you do is spam spells, more mana and more AP never hurt anyone.

Thanks for the runes suggestions and feed back. As I mentioned in the build explanation, I love getting Rabaddon's DeathCap, but only if they're a mostly squishy team. As games get late, I notice that teams will start to focus on Malzahar, as they should, so I go for the survivability late game, thats why I take the Banshee's Veil typically, but, if I have gold to spend and HP to spare, then Deathcap All the way.

This is a good Malz build, but I do have a few suggestions. As BLT said, no Deathcap = missing a lot of potential AP. I would say get it instead of Void Staff, but do get Void Staff at some point if your enemies are stacking MR. I do love Banshee's Veil and Zhonya's Hourglass for survival, those are what I build on malz too. I recommend taking Ignite instead of Heal. Heal can be useful, but it has a very long CD. As far as Masteries go, I recommend taking two points out of Perseverance and putting them into Expanded Mind. Also, Greed is not a very good Mastery. If you do the math, by 30 minutes into the game, Greed will have given you 180 gold. That's like 6-10 minions, I think you should put that into Expanded Mind as well. The skilling order is perfect. For runes, you need to swap the CDR Seals and Mana Regen Glyphs. Glyphs are better for CDR than Seals are, and Seals are better for Mana Regen than Glyphs are. Aside from my nitpicking, this is a good build, +1 from me

A nice simple malz build, however items could do some work, You havn't got radadons deathcap so therefore you are missing out on a largely increased ability power the 30% increase alone is insane let alone the flat ap boost. A definite +1 however for the fact that you made it easy to understand and obviously put some time into this.
