wth, this yi a little bit tanks but lack of damage. Master Yi should play damage. And you better remove that first example because it does says "DEFEAT", and kill 12 dead 7 isn't really great you know. Play crit to boost your damage. Balance within damage, attack speed, critical, and life steal is important. Use tier 3 runes. Don't use runes unless you already can buy tier 3
Everyone loses. If you read the section you would see why I posted it.
And I strongly disagree with your rune statement. T3s are twice as expensive as T2s but theyre barely better. Ill just use flat AD as an example.
Greater Mark of Strength x9
8.55 AD
Cost: 1845
Mark of Strength x9
6.66 AD
Cost: 720
Is that extra 2 AD worth the cost? Hell no its not. T2's are cheap and nearly as good as T3's. Do I use T3's? I didnt when I made this guide but I do now. I do because I have almost all the champs I want so Ive got points to waste.
If theres any new players reading this comment, buy a generic T2 AD rune page, a generic AP page, whatever additional runes you need, but focus on buying champs. Dont buy T3s until youve been lvl 30 for a long time and you have the champs you want. T3s dont make a noticeable difference over T2 and youll have more fun with the game if you focus on buying champs.
As for everything else you said, Im not going to bother because you obviously missed the point of the guide.
If someone could give me concrete proof that armor pen works on turrets and is more effective then flat AD (from an up to date source), Id happily change the guide.
Just searched Google for "master yi tower destroyer" and this showed up. Didn't even know there was this kind of build on Mobafire, but I've been looking for this kind of build the last couple of days (however, I've forgot it every single time I was on Mobafire, so .. xD).
I'll try it tommorow and return with a +1 and some feedback (hopefully ^^).
Question:
Isn't Armor Penetration benefitial for "tower destroyers"? :o .. I believe you'll do more damage to towers, the more ArmP you have. Am I completely wrong? Read it on some Alistar build a while ago.
And I have to question how much of the guide you actually read because I explained my reasons for warmog. Going for flat armor or magic rez is a terrible idea.
Example: Lets say you go for magic rez and you're hitting a turret. At this point the turret kills your minions and Xin comes to stop you before you can take it out. What is magic rez going to do for you in that situation? Nothing.
What if its the same situation but you go for armor and Lux comes to stop you? You're screwed. Warmogs gives you the best chance of surviving overall.
Unless the situation calls for a second defensive item, dont get armor or magic rez. If you look at the last score I posted you'll see that I picked up Force of Nature. My tank quit, the two carries were AP, and I had to be able to take more hits to win the game. But in most cases you only have room for one defensive item and Warmogs is better overall.
I'm glad you agree with Ghostblade because I also think it should be a part of any Yi build. That item fits him like a glove. If you prefer getting it first and then going for Starks, there's no problem with that if it works for you. I prefer getting Starks first to increase his base attack speed and I feel that Yi needs lifesteal as early as possible.
But yes, Warmogs is key to this build so make sure you give it a go. Between Wuju, Ghostblade, and runes, you already have a lot of AD so more survivability helps at this point.
I wont try to convince you otherwise about starting items because I know it comes down to personal preference, but I will justify my choice. I like to start with boots because it allows you to buy health pots, which gives you the chance to stay in lanes longer. The more health pots you have at the start of the game, the better IMO. More speed also means more survivability and that's my main concern before hitting level 6. More speed also means more kills in some cases. More AD is nice but it doesn't help if you cant catch your opponent. Between Wuju and runes I don't feel that Yi needs more AD at this point and its better to start improving him in other areas.
If you look at the scores I posted, check out the killing streaks. Id like to point out that every single one came from the early game laning phase so getting boots first doesn't cripple me at all. Your first item is a small boost to whatever stat you choose to improve. Its not really that important in the long run so just go with whatever you prefer.
love the concept of the build.
i main yi ive been trying every possible way to build yi. im glad you threw in youmus. builds that dont have it make me cringe! yi is the turret buster, and youmus is simply part of yi, more than any other item.
lately ive been experimenting with all attack speed runes except marks which are armor pen. starting with a doran ring and then either building wgriggles and roaming (if we have no jungler) or straight for youmus an then starks. will have to give warmogs a try.
theres one thing that sticks out at me that i really do not like about the build though. starting with boots....perhaps i rely too heavily on doran items but...they change early game so much that not getting them is almost crippling.
