Hey, my name is Pope of Doom and this is my first mobafire guide

When I first picked up Nunu I almost immediately put him to the side thinking that he was rubbish until I faced an excellent mid lane Nunu who put me to shame. After that game I made the decision to learn how to play Nunu and have found he is extremely viable in nearly all areas of the map.

Pros

- Unmovable in lane with consume
- 1:1 ratios on Consume and Ice Blast
- Very tank with my build
- Ulti will win team fights
- Great sustain with Consume
- Buff can save you early game, and turn ADC into a beast late game
- Lots of free ability's with passive

Cons

- Absolute Zero can be interrupted easily
- Only real damage output is from Ice Blast and Absolute Zero
- Only escape move is Blood Boil

Runes

For Nunu I always use a flat ap rune page because of the extra damage/heal he gets early game that allows him to stomp over other Mid lane champions. With my setup you start with 52 ap, making your Ice Blast do 85+52 damage at level one.

Masteries

Nunu is a tanky magic dealing brawler, so sticking with this general guideline I use a 9-21-0 mastery page on him. Putting AP runes on Nunu gives him enough damage to nuke down most mids. Late game Nunu needs tank to be usefull.

I level up Ice Blast first because it will do amazing damage early game, and can often knock people off lane early giving you the advantage during the laning phase.

The skill I opt to level up second is consume, it will keep you alive on lane and can usual keep you at full health regardless of harass.

Nunus buff is most useful late game to help your ADC kill the entire enemy team, so I take a point early and finish leveling it late game. If you are support Nunu this will be a skill you level up fast so the ADC you are supporting can wreck the enemy team.

I always go Ignite/Flash on Nunu while Mid laning. His consume will give you all the health you need, so a heal is worthless on him, and his buff is very similar to a ghost. A flash combined with his Buff will make sure you get out of nearly all ganks from those pesky junglers. The ignite will help you get some early kills and late game can shut down champions like Sion.
